The past year or so I've been taking more of an interest in soccer. Quite a few of the guys I work with watch Premier League games and I do enjoy talking shit with friends and wagering so I may as well get in on it, plus the woman wants to head over there so it would be cool to catch a game/riot.

So far I'm trying to avoid looking at stats and am looking at colors, logos and traditions of hooliganry

Narrowed it down to four:

Chelsea : blue is my favorite color,, okay logo and the headhunters
Liverpool : red isn't bad, cool logo /slogan, history of hooliganry
Arsenal : wonky uniform, cool name /logo /nickname, semi hooligany
Manchester United : again red, cool logo/nickname, worldwide hooligans

Man U is currently on the bottom as I've learned they are the Yankees of Europe and just buy up all the talent but they do get points for having a player from this continent on the roster

I am doing the same exact thing

Chelsea -  Owned by a Russian Millionaire

Arsenal --  Sponsored by Arab Airline  (owned by son-in-law of Sam Walton and the owner of the St Louis Rams)

Man UTD -- Owned by the owner of the Buccaneers

Liverpool --  Owned by the owner of the Red Sox and a NASCAR team.  Supporters on a Pink Floyd song

Chelsea.  They support and work hard to grow their American fan base.   They came last year for a tour and are coming again next week.  Usually its every other year or so.  I went to a match in Dallas in 2010 and Florida last year.

Actually, the richest club is probably one of the London Teams.  Roman Abramovitch owns Chelsea for instance. It would probably be them who Hoover up the talent.

Manchester United do buy a few players but they also have a great youth programme where they do bring UK talent forward.   Their success is largely down to Alex Ferguson who is one of the most successful Managers in History and has helped mould the team to be the huge success they are.

Do a little research on who owns the teams, and how much home grown talent there is.

When I "got into" EPL soccer a few years ago, I picked a London club because I figured I might get there to a match one day.  Plus, I was a fan of Lampard, Drogba, and Terry.

Admittedly, Abromavich is not easy to like.

Chelsea = Chelski. Got no love for that crap.

United = Tool bags. Yankees doesn't even begin to describe them.

Liverpool = I hope those scouser bastards spend every last day of their miserable, crime ridden lives walking alone.

Hooliganism in the UK is on a decline. For true hooliganism, look to Russia or some of the former eastern bloc nations.

Red Star Belgrade is worth a mention.

Manchester United is the team you are looking for.  Been a fan since I was about 14yrs old.  Interesting times right now, new manager for the first time since I've been alive...

There is only one question to ask when it comes to the BPL...

Red or Blue?  It's one or the other, and it's really the only question that matters.  I'm Red all the way, and have been since I started playing soccer in the late 1970s.

Haters are gonna hate, and that's okay.  Who are ya?

For those who don't know:  Reds = Man U and Blues = Chelsea.
