My wife says I have too many guns. I recently have come to face the cold reality that it may be true. I have more actions than I can feed, and the poor little guys don't even all fit into the walk in closet allocated for them anymore. So what do you do when you have too many guns? All I have left on the list is maybe a Barrett M98B and finishing up an accuracy international clone. I'd also like one or two more pistols but...I really have no more space. So what now- what would you do in a situation such as this?

Tell her it could always be worse. . . .and then go buy more guns to prove it.
ETA: damn too late |

Enough guns is when you have enough to arm every person in your state.
|
|
you're on the wrong website "too many guns" does not exist. Maybe you meant to go to the Feinstein fan page.

Move to a bigger house.
Build an addition to the current house. Either one solves the problem. |
|
Thin the herd. Sell off whatever you don't shoot, like or have a repeat of. Buy something better with the money to replace it.

Guns are the easy part.
When She tells You that You have too much ammo then You have a decision to make. |
|
Let's be honest....too many guns is when you can't feed the ones you have. If you can't afford to shoot them all, you need to focus on ammo, right?
|
|
I had the same problem when I filled up my first gun safe so I bought another one and I almost have that one full to. when the second safe is full I'm going to buy another

No such thing as too many, derp. This is the inherent flaw in the question |
|
If you have the money to buy the guns you mentioned, then you have the money to build an add-on to your house. Cater the build to your wife, and she will love it, build on another room for your future guns as well, put the buying off for a year if needed.

My family's collection was passed down to me when my father died and I've added to it. I will continue to do so until I have children, die, and pass it down to them. There is no such thing as "too many" as long as they're stored properly.

How long do y'all think it'll take for HardShell to find this thread and school OP?

Rockhard... you can never have too many guns, or too much ammo.... unless you are swimming.
In your position, if you are of the "prepping" mindset, get enough loadout for each weapon for, say, 5 to 10 complete loadings, then keep them for the "loaners" you'll be needing when the zombies attack and your friends/inlaws/neighbors/coworkers come knocking at your door. 1: If they refuse to take a gun, turn 'em away and let 'em take their chances. 2: If they take a gun, give 'em a basic safety lesson, tell 'em to keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, and let 'em in. 3: If they refuse because they have their own gun, welcome 'em with open arms. 4: if they show up wearing a bikini and sandals: (a) show them to the bedroom (b) if they are male, refer to choice #1 above. |

Edit: Beat by 2 minutes Edit: Wrong again I'm glad to say, beat by over 13 minutes! |

You had your wife sitting in the car at the XTC match at Butner the other weekend. Get her in the game. At least a good excuse for another NM AR. . . or a match rifle. . . . like a bolt gun. I got my wife to shoot some XTC first with an M4 and then with a fullsize Service Rifle AR (without the lead weights). She likes it, not as much as I do, but that should at least open the door.
Interesting to meet other ARFCOMMERS in the wild. |

Too many guns? That sounds like having too many cars or too much money.
Might be a problem, but certainly one I don't have. |
|
After seeing picture of wife I have decided you have to many guns. Send wife to me for proper disposal.

No such thing as to many guns, however there is such a thing as not enough money for more.

Need pics of all these so called "too many guns" in a group shot.

Pix of wife? This, need to determine guilt or innocence. For the first time in history a wife is correct when she says her hubby has to many guns. |

Interesting to meet other ARFCOMMERS in the wild. She was invited to shoot, and she could compete. She wasn't feeling up to it that day- and didn't want to shoot my 23lbs match rifle. Her police service was almost exclusively with an M1 Carbine. |

You should send them to a fellow former FISTer, who will give them a good home and love them tenderly. I can have an FFL e-mailed to you as early as Monday morning.
