Talk about a step backwards....

North Haven, CT --(Ammoland.com)- O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc, America’s oldest family-owned and operated firearms manufacturer, has entered into a long-term agreement with the Robertson family and the hugely-popular Duck Commander franchise.

As long as they stick with the 500's thats ok with me. I'll stick with my 870 however.

lots of rabbits, dove, quail, turkey, pheasants, and yes ducks are killed by Mossberg shotguns every year so.. GOOD FOR THEM

Since they now make goofy TV shows and T Shirts at walmart moreso than
duck calls I'd say Mossberg is probably more their target customer than
Benelli

I wouldn't trade a benelli for a mossberg.  Well, maybe I would if someone paid me enough.

I think their duck call business is doing pretty well with the ATK partnership

I am sure it's doing fine

but very few buyer are going to choose  a Benelli over say a Browning or beretta  because those guys endorse it

Now some guy buying a 500 instead of an 870 or an H&R pardner because it says Duck Commander on the side yeah I can totally see that

The partnership just makes more sense

I think I remember seeing an old ad with him toting an A-5. I didn't go buy one.

I don't mind these guys making bank off endorsements, I just am sad that there are people stupid enough to go buy products because they saw some hairy guy using it on TV, like the ducks care whether they're shot with an 870 or 500 or 835 or a high-end over/under.....

Speaking of which, what in the world is a 'deer thug'? The local gun trader pages I watch have a 'deer thug' edition rifle on sale at least once per week. What's up with that? Who are we targeting hunting shows to now? Inner city kids? Gangsters?

Mossberg has a shot gun with "Turkey Thug" emblazoned on the receiver.  I had the same reaction as you.  Then again, this is Mossberg we are talkin about here

This is from someone who hunts waterfowl for a living, between 60-100 days a year.

I agree. Mossberg semis break constantly too. If you hunt waterfowl alot, there are three choices for semis; Beretta, Benelli, or Browning. Everything else will break.
