It does seem like a waste of fine machinery and effort that a damned sink hole just swallowed them up and turned them in to scrap metal.

GM from Detroit took those old cars and are restoring them completely to like new. (I figure they might keep the screw that holds in the glove box, and maybe the cable to the radio, and the rest will have to be from scratch, but whatever.) |

No, that's a late model. Looks like a C5. Well..there were some old ones in that hole. I think there was only one early one, and it was in relatively good shape, thankfully.
That is NOT what I remembered, but I could be wrong. Several were damaged that did not fall completely into the hole...so that may be influencing my thinking. I just mourned those one-of-a-kind cars. No fucking idea why that bothers me, but it does. |
