Thought about it for a couple days and figured I would get better use out of a PPK.
Looked around for them and found some decent ones on Gunbroker.
THEN PSA suddenly has 10.5 and 12" uppers in stock again!
So now there's 1500 bucks I could easily spend. What ta do . . .
Had to FO on the R1, was a limited time thing. Everything else will be there later.

If the weather holds out, I've got an invite for a jet ski river run this weekend. Should be loads of fun!

Nice find....I understand Remington is ending the R1?

Good morning Sa/oU hope everyone is doing well. Well as MissB guessed. I am off work again. When I left the hospital I got instructions on what to do.
Dehydration drink lots of fluids and the same with heat stroke. Got it!
Acute Kidney failure REDUCE your liquid intake to lessen the amount they have to work. Worked one week. Still felt dehydrated but got 1.5 gallons of water at least a day.
Blood draw says Kidney function has went from 66% to roughly 56%. So I ask the doctor, am I killing myself staying hydrated? The simple answer is yes.

Came back too soon and paid for it. To top it all off. sixteen blood tests and that last one showed my blood sugar was high. OH for shit sakes. What a can of worms that stirred up.
Off for three more weeks. Thats nice.

Good morning NICE to see Brad, Target & Mouse this morning!!!

Today is the birthday of the woman that squeezed me from her loins. Big 70th, leaving work early afternoon to pick her up, head out for a nice dinner.  Happy b-day dear mother of mine.

Day 3 & internet still fucked w/out a kiss, phone system was back but took a dive.  Looks like phones should be up & "ringing" for good soon, they are close.  The firms server is still being held hostage by IT people, dam thing is fried, may take a few more days of optimizing.  Luckily atty & I have our own dedicated server, phew.

Work, dinner then back home to finish mowing the lawn.  After all that completed should be sufficiently exhausted.  No exciting weekend plans, shopping, cleaning & have a strong urge to go shooting.  May hit up the range tomorrow morning for a couple hours of 1911 fun.

TGIF Sa/oU friends!!!  HUGS from here.

I think he might have been alright. He was out there al day but left as soon as it got dark. I read up on then and thought maybe he had that white mouth or white nose syndrome but didn't really look like it. They are neat as hell though !!!

Off to the gun show today. 600 in pocket and some good trade bait. I always seem to do good at this show.
I only need a few little things but you just never know what you will run across. Many are just way too inpatient at these events.

Just keep looking and walking. Wish me luck.

Someday I would like to retire my 642 and go with a slightly heaver option. More capable and much easier to shoot easily.
Snag free and dead seiouse reliable. I don't remember who this belongs to. But I really would like to have something close to it.

I had a 642 airweight, and I completely regret getting rid of the thing.  Shit, I don't even like wheel guns and I loved that little beast.

Except when I shot 357 out of it, then I hated it.

Walked to whole gun show today. Lots of stuff to look over and a lot of things to look at. I'll never be the S&W guru that Terry is but I have a couple of things I am chasing.
He called and gave me a bit of incite on some things. If they would just fix his Internet I would IM him. It's would be much easier. Lots of nice Smiths came in on this show.

A Smith&Wesson 629 in really nice shape for 800 willing to negotiate and I think it's a 5" barrel. That thing looks cool.

Well in that I am the only one posting here. Nobody can or is willing to post I guess I have the floor. Talked to Hooligan the other night.
He is as funny and sociable as he is online. I could have went on for hours but his time zone made it late that night. A person who has both feet on the ground and has a sense of humor is a good person.

Terry, I IM'd several questions to. Not knowing his net was out. He called during the gun show with his thoughts and they were spot on. Hoping to bring back two classic S&W's for under 800 bones.

OHIO you and I both have been struggling lately. It's hard but we will prevail-M-A-WMD frack that shit. Those Saudis are rethinking that whole lets keep oil prices high stuff.

JohnnyCarcinogen will get all my dust storm images. To the rest not mentioned by name. Your still Sa/oU and that's going to stick. Besides Terry still owes Hellbent a kiss.

MissB as always is super sweet so she is due a weekend off every once in a while. What other thread has a resident woman on ARFcom. I hope you all have a great nights sleep.

Good morning Sa/oU!!!!
YAY, Hooligan will be back soon with vaca pics.
M1 has gun show treasures & stories.
Ohio is stocked deep for life.
We are lucky to have such a diversity of members to share love, friendship, vast variety of firearms fans & knowledge. Not to mention the sometimes sad side of the trials & tribulations of life.

Like JC not a huge revlolver fan but will always shout out some Glock love for Sly.
Who doesn't just want to hold CBF to their bosom anyway? When and if I ever need to borrow some ARFcom kahones she'll be my 1st call.

Productive Saturday, have 4 dogs again this weekend; laid low, quiet off-line day with chores around the house.  Today a trip to the dump & grocery store, nothing at all exciting.

Big hugs from here, plus a few more if you need them.

M1: on that hummingbird shot, I would move the bird closer to the flowers and reframe it. Subjects always look better with context.
Oh, and I would have thought they would have figured out that whole "hydrate, don't hydrate" thing a LONG time ago.

As far as the R1, it should be here by Tuesday. Linky to deal
It comes with a rebate for 200 rounds of new hollowpoints. Minus the boolits, it will cost around $425
Considered a Springfield (better quality) but it would have cost more and no boolits.
Bought a box of Wally-World Winchester yesterday for break in.

The jet ski thing didn't work out, was kind of rainy and cold yesterday. Not too bad at work at least.
Still doing the 15 hours of overtime with around 30 machines back ordered still. Got the CCs paid off and money in the pocket for a few toys.
Note: boss is still bug shit nuts, though.

The weather was great, the kids had a ball rotating between the beach and the pool, I managed to catch a few fish and I didn't even get a speeding ticket.

After a 5 hour drive plus another hour to pick up dog I'm wiped out.  I'll try to get to get some pics up soon, hopefully most of them tomorrow.

This thing nearly dumped me a few times.

Pasty white boy trying to stay that way.

I'll post more pics later.  These were a couple I'd taken with my potato.  I have a few more on a decent camera but they take a while to upload but I should have time tomorrow night.

I know but it beats the hell out of a sunburn.  I was out for 8 hours at a time for a couple days so it's necessary if I don't want my face peeling off.

ETA:  I actually caught more fish in the two hours after I took that pic than I did on any other day.  6 flounder (only 1 keeper), 2 croaker, 1 small red drum and 1 fish that I couldn't identify.

As for the gunshow. Didn't go with any big things in mind. Took my Sauer 38H police marked pistol and matching holster and found a buyer. Had it in the safe for a while but would never shoot it. Collectors piece.
Well with  450$ In free funds. I went walking. Was chasing a K frame Smith that got sold out from under me. Found this a model 60-9 that was dropped and the hammer bent. So he just dremmeled it off. 325$.

I'll take that. I cant buy a Taurus for that and I can have it tuned any way I want it. Lighter springs and a action job for that one and it came with a bunch of stuff with it. Spare grips and such.
At less than half msrp.

I always wanted to play with oneof those NAA revolvers. But wasn't willing to spend 300$ for a toy. Found a Black Widow for 175$ with the large rubber grip and real sights. Picked that up too.
So I lost 50$ and picked up some things I can use more. For something I would never use. I just threw in my 642 for scale. I had a lot of fun.

Awesome pics, Hooligan!

And speaking of forts . . .

I may have already posted these, but they came up in (very pleasant) conversation today and I promised a repost . . .

Fort Clinch is a Civil War masonry fort positioned on the northern tip of Amelia Island, FL. The only way for a vessel of any size to exit the St. Marys River (which divides southeast GA from northeast FL)  is through the narrow passage between Amelia Island and Cumberland Island (GA).

Just upriver lies the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.

So every now and then the journey back into time at Fort Clinch is brought abruptly back into the present by the appearance of, well . . .

That, Sa/oU peoples, is the USS Tennessee.

Nice score on that Black Widow! Is it LR or mag?  I have a newer one in LR and love it. Even made some curly cherry grips for it.

I just got a huge boner.

Seriously, if I could swim, I probably would've joined the navy in hopes of getting on a submarine.

22LR Just looked like a bucket of fun there. I have a bunch of those Winchester shot shells that would fit right in.  Dragonflies bees hornets or Wasps would all be on the shoot on site list.
