Well hell, ain't thought about those in years. My Grandpa had one that sat on his desk ever since I could remember. Now you got me to wondering who ended up with it when Grandpa passed...

One of them things that hold those little stick things that burn and smell like potpourri.

I have no idea but it looks like some kind of marker or slicer. Cool looking gadget. Hope you find out. Until then I'll just say it's a thing a ma jig

You should hang on to that. You can't find those any more. All you can find are those cheap plastic ones from China. |
|
I'm thinking turkey call. Looks like the metal piece is broken off.

My mom used to have one but it was white.
I think the rough unpainted wooden ones are rare and worth some $$$. |

The electronic version is more accurate, but it sure is fun to use the old school ones just to feel all nostalgic!

I'd stick around to find out what that thing is, but fuck you guys, my new fingerbox just came in the mail.

It's wood. Yep. That's what makes it so good. You can't find those anymore. |

A viking navigational device. A lodestone was placed in the depression. The kastel was brought into alignment with the yaardvosck which rotated in a manner to align with magnetic north.

Any more details? It is obviously beveled for a reason, could have been a pen/ink holder for a desk.
|

For the looks of it, maybe a small napkin or a paper towel folded into a napkin like shape. Kinda hard to tell when you have a wood thing on top of it.

I had one of these when I was a kid. Oh, the fun times I had with it!
Wonder whatever happened to it. |
|
That one is in much nicer condition than the others I have seen over the years....great find!!
|
|
they just had this on pawn stars, rick called in an expert and they talked about it's origins, it was very interesting.

I saw one once... In the basement of a really creepy house. I made it our before the crazy cat lady tried to "show" me what it was for... Sorry OP
|
|
They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Look at that craftsmanship!
