Pardon me if I am wrong, but I thought the term "Dachsund" was abandoned from Modern English and subjugated to the drecks of "Olde English" by the genius of Gary Larson and his Wiener Dog Art of the early '90's.
Look it up, but I think I am right here. |

My Parents brought home a long long haired dachshund named Schnitzel that they picked up in Germany after the war. Fantastic dog but deep down he was a little Nazi. He hated every other dog on the face of Gods green earth and never, I mean NEVER lost a dog fight. A pair of Great Danes, Doberman's, Boxers, the German Shepherd the neighbors donated to the police and countless others. He just hated other dogs for some reason and his signature opening move was to just run up and leap off the ground and bite them in the throat and hang on like a pit bull. He was a legend in my neighborhood as a kid. Fantastic little scrapper we all loved for 18 years..

Great little dogs. I delivered newspapers for a while when I was a kid. Pit bulls, german shepherds, english mastiffs were all loud and aggressive, but the house with the little dachsunds was the worst. Terrible little ankle biters and aggressive as the day is long. I hope to have one of my own.

I fail at posting videos. II was trying to post that Youtube video that was a Sprint Wireless ad. . .it was a farmer that ordered "2 hundred oxen" but instead got "2 hundred Dachshund."
I have a 10-year old black/tan longhair that has been a darn good dog. |

My little girl, Harley, a black and tan mini, is sitting on my lap as we speak. She is my first, and I think I'll always have a wiener dog. Most awesome dogs in the world! |
