OK GD...an employee of mine (actually an employee of a family business) was arrested Tuesday night.
Cliffs notes: Employee had a small criminal record - nothing serious - a juvenile arrest years ago for evading police or something. Not sure of exact charges, but it was when he was a kid. Not sure how that record plays into this, but it must have. Anyway, Tuesday night, our parking lot was SWARMED by 20 police cars, and multiple FBI cars. Full raid. Scared the hell out of everyone, and they were really forceful with this employee. What happened was, he went to a local hardware store and purchased a pressure canner for his elderly, disabled MOTHER. Her hobby is canning. It appears like the owner or manager of the hardware store got a bad vibe, and called police. They also raided the poor little old disabled lady's home, scared the hell out of her, and guess what... FOUND NOTHING. No bomb making materials. No evil doings at all. HOLY SHIT I AM PISSED. How does the FBI and NYSP raid a business and a home based on the purchase of a pressure canner and a "bad vibe" ??? There HAS to be more to the story, but I am not finding it. I don't think the employee made any threats or demonstrated any dangerous behavior. He was a normal guy. As he was being taken out in cuffs, he begged to be able to call the manager to get someone to replace him, so the store could continue with business. A good employee for sure. What the hell is going on in this country. And before you bash NY, this could have happened in ANY state. The FBI is out of control, as are state police. |

Welcome to 2013. It has been a police state in this country for a while but now there are many more specific actions to note and use as evidence in saying so. There used to be a time when people minded their own business and actually lived and enjoyed their lives...

Why is that shitstain hardware store owner selling pressure canners if he is so fucking afraid of them
That sounds like something that could be resolved with a friendly knock on the door. Unless there are other details, that is absurd.
How much time between when he bought it and when he was swarmed? |
My wife bought me a pressure cooker a few days before the Boston bombing, I haven't been raided (yet), should I lock up my dogs?

Need news article so I can post this on Facebook. +1 Sue the fuck out of them. |
did he recently purchase a bunch of fireworks in a neighboring state as well?
NYs fireworks suck |
That hardware store owner needs to post a sign:
"Warning, if you buy one of these, your house might get raided!" |
I will form my own opinion when the rest of the story comes out....
I really don't know any more details...other than they found nothing...no wrong doing at all. All wrongful suspicion.
I will try to find out more ASAP. |
The WOT is coming home to roost it seems, all of the BS fear monger laws we allowed to be passed to "protect" us are now being used to control us.
Who could have predicted such a thing?! |
Cash use it to purchase things.
But actually they probably have cameras and got you on camera on your car and license plate so your still screwed. |
See something, say something.
So does he look like Hank Hill? |

Join date post count freakin fivers Haha...unfortunately this is all too real. Again, I don't know the details...who knows this guy could have been sending death threats to Obama...but I seriously doubt it. |
That is the purpose of terrorism...to scare people, now someone buying a pressure canner, will send of flags....what will the next common item be used to make a bomb?
LoL law enforcement (was a law even broken?) is always behind the game. Always reactionary.
They'll never raid somebody's house for sporks until its too late. |
Positive spin- I can only hope if they ever come for me it happens at work as well.
Perhaps this means they are learning. Why cause another Waco/Ruby Ridge when you dont have to. Even when the suspect is innocent. |

Was it over 7 quarts? I see what you did there Hey we are allowed 10 round mags again...try to keep up. But yes, we can only load 7 in. |

It is for your safety and security, Citizen, please carry on.
I do wonder, though, if we are getting the entire story here. |
Anytime a bad person misuses (OBJECT), it will immediately follow that (OBJECT) will be banned or those purchasing (OBJECT) will be subject to suspicion.
Welcome to 2013 America. |
See something, say something and all that shit....
Just like getting your door kicked in on pot raid because you bought hydroponic grow equipment for your squash and tomatoes. get used to it. |

Arrested an employee. Raided his home looking for pressure canner and bomb making materials. Found little old scared lady with jarred goods. Even if there is more to the story...how can the FBI and NYSP do all this and be SO wrong??? |
