ETA: The AK platform, not the mags. I'm holding judgement on those until I get to mess with them in person.

Now they need to make some Mini-14 mags as well.................then they can take my money again

I would buy some for my trashcan.  If only 7.62x39 ever becomes readily available again.

I like my euro steel ones fine. Depends on if I can get the mags cheaper I guess.

I don't like tacticool tapco-fucked looking AKs.

I wonder how much money there is to be made on that.  Never noticed a shortage of AK mags that lasted more than a few months.  Also how many "New" AKs are being made?  My guess is not many.

Was it the AK platform they were talking about when they said they couldn't make a mag with acceptable durability due to how thick the walls needed to be? Or am I thinking of a different type of gun people have been begging for Magpul to make mags for? I even told somebody this very thing when they asked if Magpul would make mags for that gun but now I can't remember what gun it was.

I'd love for Lancer or Magpul to do a 5.45 magazine.  I would rather pay a reputable U.S. company 12 to 16 for a reliable U.S. made magazine

that would be available all the time (Oblama scares excepted) than wait for surplus that will start at 10 go up and then vanish for who knows how

long.

+1

Unless you also have a safety cutout in the lever, to manually hold the bolt back, it's just going to slam home when you pull the mag anyway.  Most AK mags don't have a LRBHO.

I'd buy a 5.45 mag from them, since surplus -74 mags were retardedly high priced before the PANIC. But surplus steel 7.62 mags have always been reasonably priced, even somewhat underpriced.

How can you tell if the mag has that feature on it?  Is it on the follower or on the body of the mag.

To be released in the next 10 years.

Anyone remember the 40rnd Pmags that was announced about two years ago, in their catalogue and even listed for sale at Midway? I had twenty on preorder but of course we know that never happened.

That may have been it. I know some people have modified their SCAR 17 lowers to accept .308 PMags though.

This is the MOE version, which will not be steel reinforced, but we're getting some great results just with our material.  We have the first molded parts in hand, testing and will probably be some changes.  Should be out late summer early fall.

The steel reinforced version, with real, solid steel tab and trunnion engagement reinforcements
, is in the works.  Goal is to be shipping around SHOT show.

Any word as to pricing targets?

Just read the Facebook post. I'm curious, why bother with a MOE version at all? Will the price difference be that significant? I'll probably hold out for the steel reinforced version.

They didn't screw up the ACR so much as they completely screwed the pooch on the launch of the platform with the ridiculous MSRP estimate and continue to hamstring the platform with pathetic support with virtually nothing to buy in the way of accessories and upgrades like barrel lengths, caliber conversions, PRS style stocks, handguards, etc. My guess is they are playing a game of wait and see because of Remington's continued revisions to the platform.
