If this insanity ever dies down, I may snag one, just for fun...

And here I thought the AR mags were one of the biggest reasons I liked AR's better!
|
|
Proprietary upper and lower. Not an AK, not an AR. The more I think about the less sense it makes.
|
|
I'd love to have one of the Knights SR47s
A lot of makers have been converting their wares to use AK mags, PTR and Sig just off the top of my head. |
|
god that is ugly.
I get the RRA catalog and saw this in there last year.. |

That's the rifle equivalent of a REALLY hot cousin that want's to fuck you. You know you shouldn't want it, but you kind of do.

Meh, I've got my AK. It's not a bad idea, really. My concern is it hypes on using surplus ammo. How would using surplus corrosive ammo do in a Direct Impingement AR platform?

7.62x39 is not a good caliber in an AR, that caliber case has a fairly large taper to it to aid functioning and feeding in the AK, but the bolt design in an AR is a bit weak for that taper, it puts a lot of strain on the bolt lugs. Getting a 30 cal bullet in an AR with less stress on the bolt lugs was one of the design parameters for the 300 Blackout.

I don't know how true it is, but I've heard that an AK-74 mag can easily be made to work in an AR. It hasn't been explained to me what exactly you're supposed to do to make it work, but that it can be done. Anyone else heard that and know what the trick is supposed to be?

Meny moons ago there was an AR47 http://ar-47.com/
If a ban is passed similar to the old grandfathering preban mags, there are a lot more AK mags out there and cheap. It would take off. During the 94 ban ak mags were still imported and cost $6.50ea |

I love me some 7n6 ammo, especially when it is feeding an AR. |

However, why would I want an AR in 7.62, that's the question! It's not like I'm saving on ammo, or gaining increased availability... What's the sense of this? |

Who makes the imitation CTR stock in the ad, and does it have picatinny rail on the bottom edge?

Doesn't seem horrible, but I'll stick to my AK for AK mags. |

I have to say, I think I'd like being able to use my good ak74 mags in a 5.45x39 chambered AR15.

|
had one sold it, ak mags in ar platform suck
c products/acs 7.62 mags =gooder |
|
If you've already got a shitload of 7.62X39, just buy an AK and deal with shitty sights and ergos.
If you're starting from zero, get an AR in .300BLK. Solution in search of a problem. ETA: Is that the mag release I see INSIDE the trigger guard? Make that a not-so-hot-solution to a nonexistent problem. |

I like it. too bad RRA is dead to me.

Not new, and certainly not the first. this. MGI has had an AK magwell for their guns for years now. |

Well, almost all surplus 7.62x39 is steel core and non importable... But the cheap commercial Russian 7.62x39 is not exactly clean burning either... Maybe it needs a piston..... |

No I fucking hate teh way you insert and eject AK mags. And my Lancer AWMs are amazing. I have NEVER had magazine issues with my AR, but I have had AK mags get stuck, and then have to dremel them to get them to fit right. |
