Wish this was a little more in depth

Status of gun
industry:

XXXX XXXX has several important
info updates about the status of the gun industry currently, followed by an
inventory update. We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the
shortages, here's what we were told.

Smith &
Wesson
-is running at Full capacity
making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more
guns to help with the shortages.

RUGER: Plans to
increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from
50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March.

Remington-Maxed
out!

Armalite: Maxed
out.

DPMS: Can't get
enough parts to produce any more product.

COLT: Production
runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.

LWRC:
Making only black guns, running at
full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.

Springfield
Armory:
only Company who can meet demand
but are running 30-45 days behind.

AMMO: Every caliber
is now allocated! We are looking at a nationwide shortage of all calibers over
the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible with 1
BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by law enforcement,
and civilians are third in line.

MAGPUL is behind 1
MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.

RELOADERS... ALL Remington,
Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no
extras for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught
up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming
months. Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted.

Bow Owens says they didnt know
when theyd be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to
pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldnt come close to
keeping up with market demand. It wasnt just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles,
the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It
really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines,
and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell.

Ubiquitous
Mosin-Nagants --
of which every gun store always
seems to have 10-20 -- were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space
marked their passing. Ive never seen anything like it. Every weapon of military
utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isnt a society
stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a
society preparing for war.

So basically the panic will continue for 6 to 9 months.  That's about how long I expected it to take back when all this started.

maybe maybe not. Some folks may cancel orders if AWB fails.
8-9 months if everything stays as is. if demand stays then 8-9 months out on what you order from here until demand drops.

Yeah sounds like some keyboard commando typed this up. The two flags for me is the end statement about preparing for war has been passed around for the last month. The second is the "1 billion rounds per week" line. I doubt anyone has the ability to track ALL ammo mfgs inventory like that.

And LWRC can't find steel for barrels? Doubtful. It's not like steel for barrels is specific to gun barrels.

I'm sure it's mostly truthful, a lot of it we have already heard from our suppliers.

The ammo thing seems a little odd though. 1 billion rounds a week is a LOT of ammo.
If that part is true and MIL and LE is keeping the civilian market this dried up, it is a scary situation.

Our local PD doesn't have any direct contract with any manufacturer. Hell they were just buying at Walmart before all of this hit. It isn;t like all PD's are set up with huge distributors like Acusport or RSR. They don't have any money to set up bulk accounts with anyone.
And truth be known, a lot of PD's across the nation are just as broke.

I just left Cabelas and there are about 14 of them sitting there collecting dust.

Yeah, not sure about the barrel thing, haven't heard that one yet.
They have suspended Cerakote since sometime in late December early January.

Let me guess, you got this forwarded to you in an email?

Why would competitors convene an "industry meeting" to discuss the fact they're selling more than they can make? It's not as if colt will agree to send some business to FN or FN will divert parts to DPMS. They are COMPETITORS in an open market.

To be balanced out by those () waiting for things to cool down. It's going to be a tug of war between the cancelations and the "Never Again" crowd.

Crap, I'm down to my last 20 Super Colibris for varmint control. The only other thing I'm remotely short of is .22LR and when things get back to whatever "normal" is going to be I'm going to jump in with both feet.

It seems to me that if the true purpose of the Second Amendment were put into action one side might be on the losing end due to attrition of ammunition.

Talked to a Remington Sales Rep today.  He said that all Remington Factories are running 3 shifts, 24/7.  They are producing as much ammo and guns as they can.

He said that .22 ammo will be a long time away from getting back to where you see it on the shelves.  Saying that a lot of stores who usually buy $100,000 a year, are putting in orders for $1,000,000 worth of ammo and that they would be lucky to get any of it within this next year.  He said the Rem plant in Arkansas is pumping as much ammo as it can produce....at a rate he has never seen before.

He also said that Remington sent out a letter to all suppliers yesterday stating that there will be a price increase on all guns and ammo on April 1st.

It was interesting that he said that they have not raised any prices at all since this began....still selling Bushmasters at the same price they were before panic.  He said ammo actually was supossed to go down in price January 1st, but then all of this happened.

He said that he thinks this will pass and the market will be flooded with guns and ammo sometime this year.

Take it for what its worth.  He's been in the gun business for over 30 years

TThis sucks if you didnt get in.

This is good news for us though, as you simply cannot argue with the numbers.

TThe numbers say that the anti's kicked a hornets nest, and that they may not have the political backing they thought due to the rapid increase in gun rights people becoming aware that they need, must get involved.
