Sounds good to me.

We all now have Personal Defense Weapons so now no one needs an assault weapon.

DHS's PDW

Now we can keep our PDW's since no one in Congress is talking about a Personal Defense Weapon ban.

Fending for, or heaven forbid, defending yourself is just a shade from terrorism these days.

Self sufficient people store food, live within their means, and procure implements to defend their life and liberty.

These traits do not help inflate the GDP or transfer power to the federal government.

It is your civic duty to rely on government for all things. To resist is to deny your fellow subjects social justice.

I like that. All my AR's will now be referred to as PDW's.

Now, this ought to cause a shit storm in GD, if people read the article. After all, there is a huge contingent here who says " NO it fucking doesn't"

" 4.The .223/5.56 self-defense round is appropriate for use within a home, even in an urban environment. Ballistic experts have found rounds from these calibers “dump energy” quickly and break apart or[red] begin to tumble after penetrating the first barrier[/red]. Will rifle rounds go through walls? You bet. Will pistol calibers like 9mm, .40 and .45 go through walls? You bet. Will shotgun rounds go through walls? You bet. That said, there is significant evidence the .223/5.56 self-defense rounds penetrate no more than, and often less than traditional handgun calibers and many shotgun rounds"

HEHE

now we just need the MSM to use it

we all know they use assault weapons because it makes people who own them seem like storm troopers, or assault troops....etc..

Not professional enough. Only government approved employees qualify to use officially designated terms. In civilian hands it is an 'assault weapon'. In government hands GOOD. In civilian hands BAD.

I wonder if things like this could be used in a Supreme Court trial? The DHS concluding a select fire is suitable for self defense and all.

Love this. Someone in DHS acquisition is going to get a really bad eval this year.

I like PDW better than Assault Rifle.

No AR is an assault weapon so PDW sounds okay.

This is a point I have always tried to hammer home when arguing with antis. In .gov's hands, it's a PDW, but in our hands it's a bullet spewing WMD whose sole purpose is to mow down as many people as quickly as possible. Such a double standard.

It's known as "the modern sporting rifle".

I see on the Sportsman Channel, Guns and Ammo TV, todays episode is on the evolution of th PDW

DHS and its components have a requirement for a 5.56x45mm NATO, select-fire firearm

This is an actual Assault Rifle not being called an Assault Rifle, but a Personal Defense Weapon.

Yet semi-automatic rifles which are not selective fire are called "Assault Weapons" and routinely called Assault Rifles as well.

This is so ridiculously Orwellian it's not even funny.
