Went to Cabelas and Sportsmans - Place looked like a grocery store after a hurricane. I cannot find "military caliber" ammo anywhere. Going to the gunshow this weekend to get screwed.

Anyone reccomend a good butt lube?

Can't give you a going rate cuz there aint none...

The simple solution is to not buy ammo right now.

... Shit has gotten so expensive that I'm reluctant to even shoot .22 LR

$1 a round in Phoenix
Link Posted: 1/18/2013 8:28:57 AM EDT
I've got some, but feel that I need more with the current situation. I was at a show a week ago and overheard someone say "people aren't spending $3000 for EBR's just to give them back to the govt"

Thought that was an interesting insight

$7.99 for Wolf cammo box .223. Not sure bout .308, I don't own one so I never check prices.

223 is $1.50 a round, 308 half that
Link Posted: 1/18/2013 8:38:41 AM EDT
under $.40 or I will roll my own.

A week or 2 ago I stopped in the LGS.
He had cases of Q3131A for $550...so I guess $0.55/rd.

I was at a local shop yesterday and the had WWB 223 for like $54@100 before tax.

5.56 is nowhere to be found.

I'm selling plinking ammo for $1 a round right now.
Link Posted: 1/18/2013 9:08:31 AM EDT
about 8 boxes of 5.56 and .223 at my lgs selling for a $1+ a round. They have been there for a while too, so I was glad to see everyone in my area was saying no to that price.

no .308 around here anywhere.

$.80/rd .223 at the LGS whose prices are always retarded. Unfortunately they have employees buy out the local Walmart and they resell it at a much higher price.
Link Posted: 1/18/2013 9:12:24 AM EDT
The going rate is..."no."

That sort of shit is why nobody cares when the LGS' eventually get fucked by Wally World and the Internet.

About 2 1/2 weeks ago I bought 2 100 Round Box's of Federal 223 at Wal-Mart for $35,and then it's been gone ever since. Then a little over a Week ago my LGS had PMC X-Tac 55gr for $22 a Box.I haven't been back there. And W-M hasn't had anything that I've found, but it could get sold as quick as they get it.

I just cleaned about 5 k .223 brass, only to realize I have about 600 small rifle primers, and none can be found anywhere.

and I still have several large containers of brass to sort through and clean.

the good news is I have plenty of brass

the bad news is I'm short on the components required to make them go bang.

I'm just glad this happened in the middle of winter when I really don't want to shoot anyway.

Link Posted: 1/18/2013 9:21:29 AM EDT
