I don't know the full cause.
1. Is it the Democrat establishment that is pushing them? 2. Do they think this is what the people in their districts want? 3. Do they believe the push and BS coming out of the MSM? It seems based on the polls and gun sales that not everyone wants a ban. Even Illinois gun owners managed to stop the push from the Chicago political establishment. I have no idea what will happen in NY. I think some of these assholes believe the hype in the media and just want to make a name for themselves and just follow whatever is popular. I know that for the Dems from Chicago and NY this is what they believe in. I can’t understand what is happening with the representatives from more red states. |

I think that more and more of them are looking at the last couple elections and thinking that it's time for the big push. They think that they can ditch incrementalism, and go for broke at this point, so they don't need to pretend anymore.

Barry has 'em by the balls. Want more money next time the elections roll around....then get
in line like a good little socialist................... |

[#10]
They might even be somewhat pro-2nd, but they know if they piss off their party they won't get any good committe appointments, no one will vote for funding for their districts and the DNC will either not spport them in their net election or possibly even back someone against them.
They will dance with who got them elected. Not who voted for them.

[#12]
They're fudds.
I talked to a guy recently, a democrat that hunts and views himself as pro-gun. He is convinced that the democrat party isn't anti-gun because there are a lot of pro-gun people like him. Then he said that we have to draw the line somewhere and that nobody really needs high capacity clips and assault rifles. But reassured me that'd be be really pissed off if they ever tried to take his hunting rifle or pistols. |

I was just about to make a thread on this. Within the first outcries of gun control in December it didn't seem to have much support. Now suddenly it seems like all of the democrats/liberals are in lock step and chanting for gun control. Now I can't go anywhere without hearing about "assault weapons" and "high capacity clips" it seems they either they got cocky since the entire establishment is calling for gun bans, and that was their true intention, or they just operate in a collective hivemind fashion which is notorious with leftists
It's interesting that the whole liberal establishment's #1 priority is gun control when recently they wouldn't touch it as it's been known to be political suicide |
|
[#15]
In the end the democrats will fall in line behind their leaders and vote the way they're told.
They have even less spine than the republicans if that is possible. |
|
[#17]
Because at the end of the day they are Democrats. They will turn any the party leaders tell them to turn. A little call from Harry, Nancy, or Barry and they will throw every one of us under the bus.

[#18]
They now know that the country passed the tipping point where FSA trumps all. They have no reason to mask their real agenda anymore.
The country traded its birthrights for a bowl of porridge and all that. |

Please list all the "pro gun" Democrats who have turned on us lately. I've only seen a few, and they were either suspect to begin with or they beat a hasty retreat as soon as they got an earful from their constituents.
The only Democrat in the Utah delegation has already said he's not voting for any gun control bill in any way, shape or form whatsoever. |

[#24]
It was part of the plan.
Lure in weak minded GOP idiots to voting Democrat..... Once they infiltrate they organize and attack. Leaving us fucked...or so they think. I think they seriously under estimate citizens. I don't know how much retired military is out there, but It's a large chunk. |

[#25]
Fuck a Democrat.
In AR both of our senators and three of our representative were democrats in 2010. Every damn one of them voted for Obamacare despite Arkansans being against it 9:1. They are the party of big government tyranny and will vote the leftist line every time. |

There was a reason I voted straight republican this year, it was my opinion after what BHO has done to this state, I felt anybody aligning with the democratic party was against WV. WV went red, but still 234,000 people voted for BHO, they didn't care what he had done. These are the FSA people and WV has plenty of them.
Also, when a thread was posted about 6 mos before the election, asking "what is your number one issue", I stated gun control. I was ed for that. The Dems have always wanted your guns, nothing changed.....ever! |

He WAS a member of the NRA Board of Directors. He voted against the first AWB numerous times - however when Dem party leadership demanded everyone toed the line, he voted to pass the 1994 ban. Keep him in mind when you hear Harry Reid talking about how he is in a "different place" on guns now (since his next election won't be until 2016). |

democrats have been doing this since as long as I have known what politics are.
1.pretend to be conservative to get elected. 2. early in the term completely shaft conservatives in many ways helping to push the progressive agenda. 3.pretend to be conservative again so they can get re-elected. It's not that the democrats are really being sneaky. It's just that people are fucking retarded . It happens over and over again every fucking time but dumbshits still believe that there is such thing as a conservative democrat. |

A "pro-gun" dem is a dem who generally won't make gun control a pet project or go out of their way to support feinsteins shit.
That doesn't mean that they can be expected to appeal to logic in the face of 20 dead six-year-olds. They will always be Dem first... just some are too busy fucking us in other ways to worry about guns until a sandy hook happens. |

If you simply ignore your gun rights, they will eventually just go away. The NRA grades based on how you have voted recently. As a result, people like Gov. Bill Clinton, Rep. Kristen Gillibrand, and Sen. Harry Reid have received high marks from the NRA. Clinton and Gillibrand decided to throw the NRA under the bus when they no longer needed them to get elected. Sen. Reid appears to be having those kind of thoughts as well. We'll soon see how much he values the NRA's support; however I don't think you can blame the NRA for having a clear objective grading system that can be exploited by deceitful pricks. And by the way, NRA gave Reid a "B" in 2010 and gave Angle an "A". Also the margin for a new AWB is thinner than you think - there are more than a few anti-gun Republicans (Chris Christie, Peter King, Jim Brady, etc.). Both parties have no shortage of people who are all about more government control. |

Tell him about Charles Whitman and that they'll get around to his precious bolt-action when someone uses one to commit a sniper attack(s). The DC snipers could have just as easily used a bolt-action rifle as an AR-15, and probably with more devastating effect. |

But couldn't you see your way to supporting the President's bill this time? It would show some real unity on our part. Oh, and Senator, we know in your last election the money spent for your seat was pretty expensive. Here at DNC headquarters, we have plenty of money to make sure you're successful again. Now how about getting on board with us Senator, whaddya say?" As always, follow the money. |
