I have two older .22LR High-Standard pistols and that Remington bulk-pack ammo won't feed in either. The Federal bulk-pack from Wal-Mart works fine in both guns.

Just a heads up, I have heard the frames of some older High Standards to not appreciate HV ammo.  Sucks to make a paperweight out of such a nice pistol.

The Walmart by my house didn't have shit in stock last night.

A box or two of .40, some .38, and a couple boxes of fudd calibers.

I scored some .32ACP and .45ACP today at lunch!

WOOHOOOOO!

I have had bad luck in the past with Golden Bullets, but having friends buy them and then having just bought a few, I think they may have changed their recipe or something.

I had the same terrible performance before, but this latest batch runs really good.

Our local Wal Mart has all the 30-30, .243 cal and 7mm Rem Mag you could ever want to shoot.

The rest of the shelves are bare.

This. The new ones say new and improved on the box and they are way better than the old ones. I'm not saying they are great or anything. They actually run better than federal bulk in my GSG 1911-22. That being said I'd still rather have a so so lot of blazer bulk.

Maybe it's your substandard hardware?  Works fine in my 10/22.  And, best of all, it's available!

Won't fire out of my 10/22 or CMMG AR setup

In 2009 I chronographed some of those notoriously inaccurate Remington Golden Bullet Value Pack .22lrs.

I think the ES for 10 rounds was something like ~300FPS. I'd have to dig around to find the exact numbers. At any rate, that was the last time I bought Remington .22lr.

Yeah the prices at the LGS were several bucks more than normal but hey at least they have some. Got 2k.

My local Academy just started carrying pmags right before all this SHTF.  The 22lr ammo wasn't on the shelf.  The kid stocking the shelf asked what I was looking for.  I sayed 22lr.  He showed me a cart full of Rem gold and CCI.

Got 3400 rounds of Federal bulk waiting for pickup at cabelas since they had the ammo cans at just a dollar or so more a brick. Then upped it to the $150 threshold and used the $20 off $150 coupon. Right at $0.04 a round.

Any Reminton rimfire ammo I have ever bought, traded for, or was given to me as a gift sucked. In .17 HMR you usually will get 1-2 rounds that will misfire, and I have never had a single misfire in .17 with CCI or Hornady. I ran up on some Golden bullet HV last week and passed on it. Unreliable in just about every .22 I own, except maybe my old slide action model 61 Winchester.

I bought some of that too and it showed up today. I thought it was a tad high but nobody around here has any and I was running low. I don't really understand why all the 22LR is gone, but I think it started even before Sandy Hook so I jumped on it.  They're sold out now.

OK, for you doubters out there!  I just today tested the Remington 22LR Gold Bullet HP's that were selling at Academy a week or so ago.  With a Ruger 10/22 and red dot they printed groups that could be covered with a dime at 25y.  That was firing 1 shot every 2-3 seconds at a target without a precise aiming point.  Zero malfunctions. Maybe not Olympic accuracy, but purty damn good for cheap plinking stuff.  Now I'm not sayin that the bad-mouthers are liars, but..........................

Most 41s won't run on bulk ammo such as Golden Bullets----they typically require target-grade ammunition, such as CCI SV.

Just read the latest NRA magazine and it clears up this ammo controversy for those interested in the truth.  A lever action Uberti Silver Boy 22LR was tested by the NRA staff.  Results with Remington 40gr HP Golden Bullet 22.s was a 1.33" average for 5 ten shot groups (50 shots) fired at 50y with iron sights and no malfunctions.

Also tested were: Winchester Super-X = 1.31 inches & CCI Stingers = 1.48 inches.

I got squibs, failures to ignite, failures to extract, misfeeds and what sounded like over-charged rounds at least every five rounds out of the last pack of Golden Bullets. The same 10/22 functions exceedingly well with the Federal bulk pack and Winchester Wildcats. That was in 2008, and I haven't bought any more since.

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal, but I've fired thousands of rounds of Remington Golden Bullets with my Ciener conversion with only a handful of problems.  Most of those problems were due to me not keeping the Ciener properly lubed.

Golden Bullets work fine with my Ruger Mark 1.  Golden Bullets are turrible in my Spike's dedicated upper (it likes CCI or plain lead bullets).

The Remington Gold bullets worked really well in my GSG522SD

Your experience is 4-5 years out of date and doesn't apply to current production.
