What are they selling for?
|
|
Price gouging doesn't exist. Markets change. Supply and demand have both changed recently. Prices readjust.

A friend told me today his LGS was selling M&P 15 sports for $1,300. That isn't price gouging?

If they split the water, they will still both die. What now? Price gouging of any kind is as real as my scenario. |

*Sigh*.... Price gouging is something that is abstract and is highly subjective to the person doing the buying. It's no different than getting a "steal of a deal" or "losing your shirt" on a sale. Each of those terms would be different from person to person as well.
To say it doesn't exist is not really correct. It just doesn't matter. If the price of something offends you, just don't buy it. |
|
Price gouging is a pejorative term referring to a situation in which a seller prices goods or commodities much higher than is considered reasonable or fair. This rapid increase in prices occurs after a demand or supply shock.

I could advertise KelTec KSG's for $600 OTD all day long, but I don't have any. Wait another day or so and people will be screaming that their LGS sucks because they don't have any EBR's in stock. |

Yet another slang term like "price gouging" and "low ball offer" that are used to express the intangible parts of commerce. |

She said no. I call it pussy gouging. |

The solution is simple, really. Be it generators, water or guns. Pay more or pay nothing- because there is nothing to buy.
In case you haven't noticed, demand has skyrocketed. You can either pay more for something in stock, or get on a waiting list for something that is out of stock with no idea when resupply is. With one option, you have a rifle. The other, no rifle. It's really pretty simple. |

My favorite line is "I totally understand and support the free market but..." and then contradict themselves in the same sentence by saying "...I will no longer patronize that company and I hope they fail".
