Aggie,

No thanks on the mamogram, but you obviously have the answer to my question. How do you include a picture with a post? I have some pictures I would like to post.

First open an account with photopoint.com--it's free for now anyway and upload your pics.  Make sure you transfer the pics out of your inbox into an album.

Place the url between the board code for posting pics.  It will look like this except change the "q" to "g"

[imq]albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1621676&a=12384892&p=46015878&Sequence=0&res=high[/imq]

to get the url just click on the picture in your photopoint album then copy and paste the url into your thread.  Don't use the "http://" part of the address.

Hope this makes sense.

What?  How is this going to work now?  Will I have to pay a Photopoint fee?  Or do current account holders go w/o the fee?  SOMEONE HELP MEEE!

I got an email from them saying that they want $9.95 a year which is pretty cool. Only problem is when going to the pay up page. They want your phone # etc. and the "Verisign" page does not look quite right. Untill they get it together I will find other ways to get photos on a server. This may or may not work.

TESTING: If this works, I'm deleting all my Photopoint images and hosting them here...

Then again, maybe not... the photo quality sucks. That is on "ofoto"... not happy with the results, so back to the drawing board.

Both Yahoo and MSN offer online photo albums I think.  I'm cancelling my photopoint account.
edit:
This is not to say that I have any moral problem with them charging a fee, hey it's capitalism, but I just put all my pictures on MSN for free.  It is not quite as convinient as photopoint but does have some advantages.

Now a test:

Well I decided to go with http://www.webshots.com/homepage.html instead.

Kinda nice not to have that silly ad on top of your pics

I ain't paying no fee.  I'm using tripod.  50MB free space...make it look like a web page.  Not as convenient as photopoint but what the hell, it's still free.

There are tons of free web space providers.  Most of your ISP's give you some space on their server when you open your account.

I set up a free photo album on www.excite.com, and it seems to work well. Photos are loaded the same way as photopoint, and there's no advertisement at the top of the picture:

Ok, there are two ways to do this, the right easy way, and the poor man's easy way.

The right way is to start a website say at homestead or some such.  You download your pics and then link to them, for example, from my homepage:

You go to the pic on the homepage, right click and then copy shortcut, address, or link.  If that option is not available, click on properties.  On properties, it will show you the address, copy and paste.

Then, there is the poor man's pic save.  I must have 3 or 4 yahoo email addresses.  Why not 30 or 40?  Save a pic, email it to yourself, and then leave it in your inbox.  When you open that piece of mail, right click, copy the link.  Everyone can view it right out of your mailbox (see example below).

and then from Yahoo:

Well, you can see, that McDonalds pic is saved only in my yahoo email inbox.  I think I will open 3 or 4 yahoo email boxes just to save pics in.  I doubt they'll ever notice.
