A guy from UZI talk called IWI and asked about this new UZI Pro.

Originally posted by SHADEONE on UZITALK.COM

Just got off the phone with IWI.

They arent allowed to talk about much right now uzi wise since its only the uzi pro coming out and their main focus has been the Tavor recently. For those wondering here is some basic info:

- They are planning on doing more in the uzi line in the future but are waiting to see how the uzi pro does next year first.

- He would not specify further on future / new uzi products (mini / full size / carbines).

- Parts will be available seperately to support the guns they will market (i.e. only pro stuff for now, hopefully stocks and lowers will be available seperately).

- Original style (non-pro polymer style) micro and uzi pistol lowers will most likely not be available since they are not specific to the pro.

- No answer on if they will have receivers available seperate for building your own.

- Confidentiality agreement kept him from saying what parts are specifically being produced in the US here, how these are actually being assembled and how complete the guns come in from Israel or if they are just imported as parts kits or whatever.

Essentially what it all boils down to is that we have to wait until SHOT show for more real solid info. It seems that the Tavor is / will be their flagship for a while.

For $200-300 sure why not...but I have absolutely NO use for something like that.

Cool though.  Wish they made more stuff...always like their stuff.

What advantage does that have over your standard glock 19 or S&W M&P?

Not trolling, just wondering.

I would love to have a full auto UZI, but that thing just looks heavy and bulky for what the average 9 mm will do just as well.

We are not impressed by your plastic and sheet metal UZI.

Aside from being harder to aim, more difficult to grip and being 10 times as bulky...

oh wait.

I'm not sure. But you could throw a UZI Pro stock on it, VFG, insert a 32rd mag that only cost $10, and drop your registered micro UZI bolt in it... seems like a fun SMG, eh?

Never owned an UZI, but may get one of these... original micro UZI's are $1500+, this is going to be less than 1,000.

look at the mag release.

I don't think it will accept the cheap surplus mags.

I wonder if it would be effective in open class USPSA with a red dot and a 32 round mag?

In semi absolutely none. It's just a big, awkward pistol.

Wow, just a few hours ago I was telling a coworker how much I wanted a Micro Uzi.... but this looks even better, had no idea it existed.

Wonder how much it will be. I'll take 2!

I would collect one in full-auto only. What other reason is there to have one, for looks?

To shoot and have fun with.

Even a semi like this one would make a cool range gun.

In full auto it'd be alot of fun.

In semi-auto, any semi-auto pistol with a 20-33 round mag does the same thing and isn't a giant lego block.

I’ve always wanted a mini uzi but in reality a Glock 17 will do the same thing and more if we’re speaking in terms of semi auto.

That's kind of what it loos like to me too.  A horrible collision of Uzi and MAC.

Unless its ~$300, I'll be horribly unimpressed with this one.
