THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A 35th District police officer is in a medically-induced coma following a violent struggle with a suspect in the Logan section early Friday morning. According to investigators, officers responded to an assist call at about 12:45 a.m. at 7th and Loudon Streets. When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Officer Michael Gwynn unconscious and unresponsive, but still holding on to 34-year-old suspect Havon Cooper. |

Wow. The 35th is where Lawncrest is, IIRC. That used to be the relatively quiet area where all the cops lived and retired out of.

If he's in a medically induced coma, I wonder if he had to go hands on and he suffered trauma to the brain? Or could it also be due to blood loss from either a stabbing or shooting? |

FOX says...
Police are still investigating the reason that the 35th District officer stopped a vehicle to interact with the suspect in the first place. The initial 911 call came after the struggle began. A witness told police the officer was trying to arrest a man when they got into a scuffle and the officer passed out, falling on top of the 42-year-old suspect. |
