Other than a few minor differences like two pins for the trigger group, and mag release button the Linberta looks similar to the TriStar.
The Mag tube looks different (better?) and would still probably take a Remington extension.
The choke/flash hider looks to be more effective than the Tri-Star.
I liked the breacher Medic put on his, but it's around $40.

An again, for you buy-USA guys, the Linberta is made in - -
Yup, you guessed it,

in Turkey

Wow, I went around to a few of the 'other' gun forums and
you guys are a tough crowd
I joined a few forums to learn more about the guns I own, and in general, this has been a big help.
I went through my Norinco SKS, a 1903 Springfield Mark 1, an old Stevens 77F pump,
a cheap break open H&R,

and just recently put a mag ext on the Tristar.

Am I a gun expert? Nope. But I have owned a few over the past 50 or so years and have more time to play
now that I am retired.
Is this Tri-Star a shotgun that will last for 50 years (like the 77F has)?
I doubt it.  Is it a semi-auto 12 that is worth about $270?
So far I believe so.
Is a $200 Remington pump in good shape a better buy?
Probably, but this is a cool SA 12 at a decent price.
Do I recommend this model?
Who cares?
If it proves itself, I may even rely on it for 'important' stuff.
Right now it's a fun toy for the wife to shoot.

I emailed LINBERTA  about parts and got a quick reply from "Matt" saying they will have a parts list out next month. He asked if I needed anything sooner.

Hey guys, I've seen on another forum that the Remington has the wrong thread pitch for the mag extension and that the correct one is the benelli nova. Anyone know if this correct? Guy said he took his cap in off his raptor and took it into Academy and screwed it onto Remington and the benelli nova and did not match Remington but did match benelli nova. I'm doing three of these and need to know which ones to order?  Also can someone measure the length from the end of the forearm to the end of the barrel for me? Here is the link. Bottom of page 4. Thanks.

I do believe those are Turkish. If so, no thanks.

Why? They've been making shotguns for quite a long time. ETA: to wit, do you know the failure rate compared to other "American" manufacturers?

Or Benelli? Perhaps H undst K?

Turkish Semis/pumps are fucking garbage

Don't know about the pump or the hybrid model but the Rem tube fit the threads quite well on my SA model.  I mean like really smooth.
The Tri-Star threads were too long to long to allow the Rem tube to lock things down. Mine makes the 3rd one that used a Remington extension just in this thread alone.

I get 7 inches from end of barrel to forearm.

http://i965.photobucket.com/albums/ae132/rocketman_photos/A-TAC-barrel_zps4469b498.jpg

and I don't seem to be having any problem with low brass

For any of you guys with the Turkish made Weatherby SA-08 SA 12 gauge
http://www.chuckhawks.com/weatherby_SA08_first_look.htm
there is a safety recall on some made back in 2010/2011

Though I should post that.

Anyone figure out if a Mossberg or Remington stock would fit?

+1 on the stock question. I have mine shooting nice small patterns with Winchester 00 buck and a Carlson's choke.  My only complaint with my Tristar Raptor ATAC, is that mine has a trigger pull that is excessively heavy.

I think they're referring to the choke threads. The Remington extension fits just fine after you lop off the extra threads on the mag tube.

One of you could order one of these and see what works. If it don't fit then send it back.

Looks like the Gun Ban Bill calls this an Assault Weapon because of the pistol grip.
Better gets one grandfathered in, quick :)

Sorry I can't offer any info on stocks for the Raptor but the wife and I spent the day at the gun range and tried this cheap Turkish gun.
Started off on the trap range and put 100 shots through the shotgun.  Low brass, no feeding issues, stovepipes, nothing, all worked great.
The Nylon mag extension has a small area right under the choke tube vents that is not shiny, no cutting action.
This gun rocks .
She hit more clays than I did but I was able to get off 8 shots at one before it bounced and ran off into the woods :)

Now to clean up after a fun day at the range. Got everything soaking.

was trolling my local academy. saw a tristar handgun, looked to be a clone of either the cz75 or the bhp. couldn't keep the vultures off me long enough to get a finger fuck in for details. from this thread, i'm guessing the shotguns are okay, anyone know about the pistols?

Look up Canik 55, IIRC. Those pistols have been around for a while, TriStar is just the latest importer.

You're right though, it's a copy of a CZ. IIRC, the TriStar variants take the CZ75 "thin" magazines.

Add me to the list I had been wanting a Mossberg 930 SPX but this might just hold me over ?? can't complain about the extra slug either.

Here's mine with a +3 American made extension. She hold 8 slugs in the tube and 1 in the chamber. Worked great at the range firing
Remmington sluggers at 100 yards.

After reading Act. 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, 922R,  925 d 3, 5845(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and 478.39 she's configured as an semiautomatic assault weapon
because of the 2 evil items. But she can be readily adaptable to sporting purposes in 10 second by removing the tube and spring and putting oem ones back in
or if that's not fast enough how about an 9" wood dowell through the hole in less than 1/2 seconds
Or I could just mod my Maverick 88 stock to fit and only have on evil item, ie the longer tube but the more I shoot it the more I like the pistol stock.

Since there's no banned yet of shotguns with 2 of more evil items that I know of, plus I bought the gun from a FFL dealer that didn't come in a box unassemble in pieces there's not too much to worry about.

9" dowell pops right in if needed !

Alittle token from last time out.

We've only shot plain old regular loads so far.
It is the wife's gun, sort of

8 fast rounds rocked her pretty good, but she seemed to like it.
Me too.

8 full house rounds sounds like a lot of FUN (?)

I don't think you made a bad choice on the shotty.

ROCKETVAPOR, nice set of rifles. i just purchased a Tristar atac and I was noticing your sling mount.  What make/model is it and are you happy with it?
Link Posted: 2/17/2013 4:37:59 AM EDT
[#23]
The sling mount was for an 870 from G&GG
search: GGG-1084 Front Slotted Sling Attachment

They make one for a Mossberg and an 870, I got the 870 one.
It has a detent ball in it but I touch drilled a spot on the back to line up with the pin on the ATAC forearm to keep it in position.

I cut the ATAC mag tube just enough to thread the REM mag extension with the sling mount in place.
If you cut the tube make sure to debur and blend the end just a little.  Shell rims will hang up on the way OUT if you don't.

The factory end cap probably has enough threads to use the sling mount if you don't mod the tube.
But I would still put a drill start in the back side of the sling mount to catch the pin.

Thanks for the information.  Ordered the sling mount and extension.  I will update you on how it turns out.  Again, thanks.

The raptor 28" model is almost an exact clone of the Beretta a300.  The only difference being the remington-threaded mag tube.

The ATAC I have no clue what it is a copy of.

Buddy had a tri-star, sent it back to the factory for going full auto. Sent it away to get fixed, got it back, apparently they did something because from then on it would only shoot 2 round burst. Obviously he doesnt have it anymore.

Only experience ive had with them so its a bias opinion.

Yeah I bought one of these tristars & like a goof I didn't bring anything to the range other than low-brass shells.  It never cycled once in 50 rounds.  So far, I'm not impressed with Turkish guns.  This after I bought one of the turkish .410 AR-looking shotgun clones that never worked either.  Firing pin broke on that one after 25 shots or so and it jammed at least once per magazine prior to that happening.  Doesn't take a standard firing pin either I had to have a new one made.  No more turkish guns for me man I've had enough.
