95-year-old N.S. hunter uses dead-eyed aim to bag her first moose

http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/09/27/95-year-old-n-s-hunter-uses-dead-eyed-aim-to-bag-her-first-moose/

Hunting for a story to inspire your outdoor exploits this season?
Look no further than that of 95-year-old Laura Wood, who recently downed
a 600-pound cow moose near Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and
Labrador. The mother of four from Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, felled
the moose with a single shot, garnering national media attention in the
process.

According to a story in The Toronto Star,
Wood has been hunting for 79 years, and tried six years ago for a
Newfoundland moose but went home empty handed. Not this time. She
apparently rose at 4:30 am each morning to battle bad weather and boggy
conditions before nailing the moose on the last day of her hunt. And
she’s ever humble about it.

Don't know what she used, but I know a guy who shot a big bull with a .270. .30-06(with heavy bullets), .338 and .375 all work well.

600 lbs? Just a calf.

Moose meat is the bomb though. Best red meat I have ever eaten.
