There will be several hardcore Elephant boys who will come and give you twisted scenarios as to how he can win. He can't. This is the worst economy in our lifetimes, gas has doubled in price, tens of millions out of work, our embassies attacked, our ambassadors killed and our flags burned....The Iranians stand poised to gain a nuclear arsenal....Healthcare is a shambles, our debt is through the roof....dramatic cuts to our military loom.....we are less than 50 days away from the election....it SHOULD be a blow out, it's not.

Romney and the R's just keep sticking their Goddamn Feet (both) in their mouths. You can't say you "don't care about 47% of the American people" In ANY fucking context and think it's going to be ok. He stuck his foot in his mouth earlier on this when he was talking about "not caring about the very poor". I don't give a shit what he MEANT, there are certain things you Don't Fucking Say, period.....and he seems incapable of learning this lesson. He may be a smart guy but he connects with people about like Mr. Smithers from the Simpsons. There is no way he's going to pull all the swing states he needs, not after this.

What a bunch of idiots. Prepare yourself and your friends and families as best you can, it's all that can be done.

Well, ain't you a ray of sunshine.

The problem with this type of attitude is that it tends to make people give up.  The fact is, it ain't over until we give up.

That is the goal of these types of threads.

Not for me. My goal was to highlight the fact that Romney is a shitty candidate. Either that or the Republican message sucks- Which is it? The blow out should be so fucking huge it would be IMPOSSIBLE TO HIDE. It should be like Baghdad Bob with an Abrams muzzle at the back of his head saying ––-"No Americans here".

And yet no commentator will go on record and say it. Not one. Not one credible political commentator is willing to say "Candidate X is going to kick their ass".....and yet a bunch of Internet Wunderkinds will tell you it's Reagan all over again....Not only that they will get pissy if you don't fall in line and agree lockstep...

Still working for the re-election of Obama.

Tell me where I'm wrong. Cite ONE pundit, ONE of any note that will say it's not 50-50 -at best, at this point when the Republicans should have been able to nominate a fence post and walk away with it. What do YOU attribute that to? What are the possibilities- 1. Romney sucks 2. The message sucks 3. People are stupid/socialist....4?.... If you can do anything but spout party line bullshit make an argument as to why it's not a complete blow out that is too big to hide. What would the R's need to be convincingly ahead? 50% unemployment? A Football stadium that got dirty bombed? An effective tax rate of 60%? Pictures of Biden with a Goat? Really, what the hell would it take, they should be mopping the floor with the guy. Why are reasonable people not voting for Romney or hell, AGAINST Obama in CRUSHING numbers?

There are two realistic choices, Romney or Obama.

You are trying to convince people not to vote for Romney.

Everything sucks.....blah blah fucking blah.............boy, that's some message you got there.  Sounds like hysterical ranting by someone who is desperate because they know their guy if not going to get elected.

Blow out?  Because you fucking say so?  Not fucking hardly.

Why are reasonable people not voting for Romney?  I didn't realize the voting had started yet.

And yes, Obama got elected for no other reason that people being stupid.  Period.  That's it.

And spare me the horseshit that Johnson or RP would have a better chance.  That's nothing but a delusional fantasy.

You can dance all around it as much as you want, but you are working your ass off to get Obama re-elected.

I hope Romney wins but if he does it will be because of NOTHING he or the R's have done. I'm not a Libertarian as ANY of them will tell you on this board- they don't like me even a little I stand opposed to much of what they believe so please try again. I am disgusted with the Republican Party and it's that simple, as are MANY people apparently.

Blow out because I say so? NO, blowout because the single hardest driving factor in presidential electoral politics should be pushing the R's through the roof- but it's not. Why did Carter lose? Shitty economy. Why did G. Bush 1  lose? "It's the economy stupid" ring ANY bells? What is Bill Clinton most remembered for? What was the point of his keynote speech at the R Convention? My ECONOMY WAS GREAT.........Why is this not KILLING Obama? Because the R's have nominated a shitty candidate- as they have a recent history of doing- McCain, Dole etc.......Even stupid people understand gasoline costs TWICE as much as it did 4 years ago. They understand that their grocery bill is through the roof....Why are they not flocking to the R's? Again, crummy candidate, bad message, they are stupid........Two of those you have to lay directly at the feet of the R Party. The last one, if that's what you truly believe––- then you KNOW I'm right and Romney can't win!

I am not seeing many signs or new bumper stickers for Obama.

In 2008 they were everywhere.

Spoke to the wife the other night about this.

We're in Northern VA.  She said that in 2008, the neighborhood was about 50/50 Obama/McCain.

So last week she and our 4 year old went out and counted signs in the 'hood.  She counted seven Romney signs and only one Obama sign.  A stark difference from 4 years ago.

Also, the Obama sign vanished the other night, and the woman who put it up sent an email out to the neighborhood complaining.

I'm in A'Stan, so don't look at me.

I commute 75 miles a day back and forth to work.  During that time, I go for days without seeing any Obama propaganda, or "Blue Girl, Red State" on their cars.  The economy has been hit hard up here, hence the lack of support for the Marxist fuckstain elected by the soft headed, drooling masses of frumpy white liberals almost four years ago.

Economics can be an absolute bitch to reconcile with your Utopian dreams and aspirations of rainbows and gold and free Budweiser for all.  With the true unemployment numbers being the "elephant in the room" during this election cycle, Obama's going to lose this one.  His machine can say otherwise, the Ministry of Propaganda can pull out all the stops, but people are desperate outside a few areas that are doing *ok*.

He's going to lose.  Romney isn't THAT bad, despite the naysayers.

I hope you're right but the exact thing that you have pin pointed- the economy- should be pushing Romney so far into the lead that it would be undeniable. I just said it on this page- How bad would things have to be to put Romney ahead? And yet, you don't see that in the polls. You don't see that in what the pundits are saying.

I always have to be careful about making assumptions based on what people I know are doing saying- most of my friends are rabidly conservative so they are not a real measure of "society at large". It can be difficult to get an accurate perspective.....The other thing that is in play is the fact that there are only about 5-6 states that really matter, the rest of us are just sitting on the sidelines playing our role. What the polls say/what people think in Florida, Ohio, Colorado etc...is what really matters- and generally, I don't like the look of it in those states.

Will, the only thing I can say is that the poll results that are being thrown out there are over sampled with dems using metrics from 2008 to create the appearance of an Obama campaign still in the lead and strong.  It's a lie.

This situation is starting to get discussed by pundits because something is causing them to ask "WTF?".  Yesterday, a couple of dem pollsters on FNC explained that the current polls assume dems will turn out to vote in the same numbers that they did four years ago.  So, you have not only more dems being polled, but assumptions made by the pollsters that as many voters will turn out for Obama as they did in the last election.  These two factors combined create inaccurate numbers that fall nothing short of propaganda.  It's like nothing I've seen before...but hey, it's Obama-America's first Marxist president-so maybe I shouldn't be surprised.

People sense bullshit when they hear these numbers, which is why the story is gaining traction in the news and on talk radio.  This isn't Klinton in '92 or McCain in 2008.  This is 2004-where the MSM carried the Kerry / Edwards ticket's heavy lifting-except on steroids.  The propaganda didn't work then, and it probably won't work this time either-especially with this economy.

Say a prayer for our country and children.  "This too shall pass", as my dad always says....

I've visited Colorado several times over the past few years, from '08 until this summer.

There was Obama stuff all over the place in 08 and even in 09 still.

I looked as hard as I could last time I was up there (June 2012).  Spent most of my time in Fort Collins, and counted exactly 1 Obama sticker, plus 1 more on the drive back down to Denver.  I didn't see any Romney stickers, but I did see at least 10 of what I'd call "pro freedom" stickers.  Gadsden Flags, "You keep the hope, I"ll keep my change", etc.  Zero Obama yard signs either.

Don't obsess too much about the polls that keep oversampling democrats.  The only numbers that matter are who is motivated to go out and vote on election day.  Those who are hurting because of the economy, Republicans, businessmen, healthcare professionals, etc are all motivated and want this guy gone.  His base?  Well, we're still in Afghanistan, he's drone striking the shit out of places, Gitmo is still open, the poor are still poor, the rich haven't been disemboweled in the streets....so they're not happy.  They have zero motivation to go support this guy again.

I think Romney will win, and I think voter turnout will be markedly lower in my bracket (18-30).  Those kids who were still in school in 08 and voted for "hope and change"?  They're in the real world now, and the jobs/pay suck.  They'll either sit this one out or vote Romney.

This doom and gloom is because you're buying in the the Baghdad Bobs of the media who keep saying "the numbers are fine, don't worry!" as Romney tanks go rolling through the plaza in the background.  They're all in for this administration, but that doesn't mean the American public is buying what they're selling.

I'm not saying it won't be a close election, but this "Romney has no chance, the end is neigh" shit is fucking BS.  All you're doing is potentially suppressing your own sides motivation and voter turn out.  Way to go.

Honestly, it could easily have went either way but I felt pretty strongly that the electoral map was stacked too hard against Romney. He had to "run the table" and he wasn't Minnesota Fats.

I remember after Obama was elected the first time, there was a lengthy thread discussing whether the GOP had purposely thrown the race or just sucked that bad. The general consensus seemed to be they sucked "harder than Hurricane Charlie."

Now I can write the ending. This is just the beginning of the end.

Texas goes blue within the next 10-15 years, count on it. The floodgates will be turned wide open for the next four years by action/inaction whatever, we will be "overrun". That happens and you will never see another Republican president, it's not mathematically possible at that point. The country drifts further and further to the left until one of three things happen- 1. The money stops and it burns to the fucking ground and we end up like Madd Maxx 2. We end up in virtual communist slavery 3. Somebody says, "Bullshit" and pulls the eject handle and a state or group of states secede- where that goes....well, hard to say.
