The first hippie that kicks in my door, brandishing a OC paintball gun is getting a .45 slug to the chest. Then I'm calling the real police.

I've said for years, if Duwayne Chapman came to my office looking for work (or anybody trying to emulate him) I'd have to show him the door, too. Don't want or need the liability for what that loose cannon is capable of. He and his types are cheeseballs in the industry and have done us no favors. Was very relieved to recently learn his show was not renewed for another season. I do my own recovery work but have access to a nation-wide network of QUIET professionals who do NOT travel with camera crews...if I ever need 'em. |

I'm going on about 3 hours sleep so I'm only about 1/3 as smart as I normally am and have to go to work in a couple hours. At least I've got a good excuse! |

Then, we call Shanaynay's aunt who can't come so we load three kids into my van and take them to their grandma's, who happens to live on the other side of the same projects. I wait to put the cuffs on Shanaynay after the kids are out of sight. She cries all the way to jail about how that wasn't her stuff she got caught with and the dope (stolen property, or whatever...) belonged to one of her babydaddies and he wad going to sell it to catch up on child support so she'd have the money for court, or whatever... We get to the sheriffs office. I call dispatch. They open the sally port We drive in, sally port closes. We walk into booking. Subject is taken into custody, rebonded shortly afterward (same bonding company) and afterward I might even have to drive her back home. Real scary shit...stuff they show on TV, not...

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile This is much more representative of how it really is. You are in more danger of getting sideways with the police than your guy. Oh you better learn the various states laws you can get into a real jam in places like TX, KY, OR FL. If you just go grab your guy. |

My biggest problem is "No find, no fee..." and then having to deal with all of the fuqq-ups of the original bondsman (usually a bond agent who writes paper for some company like Ranger, and not a "professional bondsman" who writes on their own security, as described in Oklahoma...) not securing collateral, not getting descriptions, addresses, vehicles, not confirming references, etc. They call you as a last resort to unscrew the situation that THEY screwed up and then expect you to eat your time and mileage if you come up empty handed. Bonds are like any other loan, only the person that was bonded out is the collateral. You do your collection work at the very beginning and then you DON'T have to struggle on the end. ETA: Money is a lot easier to transport than a subject. Get me the cash and I couldn't care less if you went back to jail. |
