THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT The Blaze has been given a first look at an incredible special ops breakdown rifle that you haven’t seen anywhere else.
More at link.
Consider this a special Firearms Friday treat:
It’s called the Paratus 16, and it is one of the most exciting new rifle designs we’ve seen in a long time. Designed from the bottom up and built by DRD Tactical Arms, the Paratus was conceptualized from the start as a multi-purpose rifle specifically for Spec Ops/Covert Ops missions. It can also suit many diplomatic or executive security, military, air crews, law enforcement– and of course– home defense uses. What DRD Tactical has come up with is a high-tech clandestine ops rifle that fits right in your backpack. |

Couple things...
1) Clandestine breakdown special ops. REALLY? Should have added the words "Seal Team 6" and "tactical" as well. Would give it more street cred.
2) It's not like you can pop the suitcase and start blasting either. Some assembly is required. The side folder is cool, but that's why we have the SCAR. |

I just don't see what is special.
If I wanted something that looked like a SCAR i would just buy a SCAR. |

Is it just me, or does it look like a really mediocre photoshop?
The ACR stock is offset, the MBUS look pasted on, the barrel looks like it has a DI gas block and it has a knurled thread protector instead of a brake, comp or flash hider.
ETA: I went to the link to see that it real enough. The stock bothers me though, I don't know why.

Think I'd rather have a Larue Suitcase and skip on this abortion.

So basically the only thing this rifle has that others don't is a barrel nut that can be hand tightened, and tool-less removal of the rail. |

For 2500 bucks as configured in the picture, maybe.
I've got a semi-auto 308 on the want list. |

Looks heavy and expensive.

You have to wonder if they actually believe that or just throw it in there for the benefit of the more money than sense types who will no doubt fall for it. |

Six men came to kill me one time. And the best of 'em carried this. It's a Callahan full-bore auto-lock. Customized trigger, double cartridge thorough gauge. It is my very favorite gun. I call it Vera. |

Price too high.
But even if it were affordable the charging handle on the left is a no go. |
