I'm 27. I've owned 3 Vettes; a 90 Z51, a plain 92 Coupe, and a 99 FRC. I'm neither bald nor that old. The 92 and 99 even saw action on an actual track during lapping days.

Youth is wasted on the young. You have the life and age, but no money. Or, you could have the money, but no age left.
I just visited the Treasure Coast and saw a Maserati going 25 in a 55. Guess who was behind the wheel? ![]() |

I owned two Vettes, one when I was 21, a 62 FI Hardtop Conv and the other a 59, when I was around 30.
I would rather twist the throttle for thrills now.,,,,way cheaper. |

0-30 years old with a sports car: "Look at that yuppie piece of shit..."
31-40: "Who is he trying to impress?"
41-65: "Mid life crisis!"
65-: "Get the fuck out of the left lane, dammit!" |

That stereotype seems to be true, but it's not nearly as accurate as it would be with Sebrings. I don't think I've ever seen a Sebring that wasn't being driven by an old man.
I have no clue what attracts old men to Sebrings, but they're the epitome of "old man car." |

I'm partial to the idea of an Exige myself. Anyways, in my 99FRC Vette I sure passed a lot of fancier cars on track. The guys who actually show up at lapping days are normally pretty cool and I never had to worry about running into kids with shitty Hondas and whatnot at those events. |

I had a Vette when I was 17, how I am still alive I will never know but I sure did love that car and wish I had another. The problem now is every asshole little punk with a POS cobbled together honda with one of those stupid ass mufflers thinks they can take on a Vette and we get called old farts for ignoring them.
Modern Corvettes are getting pretty expensive, I would hate to think what the insurance would be for someone under 30 now. |

Don't forget the black satin jacket with the corvette logo embroidered on the back and the "pouting child" doll to lean against your car at shows.
I am halfway kidding, an electrician I worked with had a late model vette and my uncle is on his 3rd one. Neither fit the stereotype. Funny how pretty much any interesting car has stereotypes and haters. Camaro = trailer park, mullet, wife beater Mustang= See Camaro Corvette= 50's, bald, yadda, yadda, yadda. Or an extra from Jersey Shore. Miata= Gay Subaru= Lesbian H1= Middle aged guy living out his Walter Mitty "explorer" phase Land Rover= Hot soccer mom if stock, if modified see H1 Volvo= Soccer mom if new, if old= Hipster The list goes on and on. |

It's an expensive car. Typically somebody in their 20's can't afford one.

Because they finally have the money that wa sbeing used to feed, clothe, and care for their families... and their families are smaller because the kids have moved out.
I'm hoping to get one myself in 6 years when my last child moves out. |
