I mainly look for the one that is the least busy and still do the job. I try and travel as light as possible in the field so my scope often has more uses than just a sight. I also like the Zeiss Rapid-Z reticle and system. I have come to really love the EOTech holograph since recently getting one. Too bad there is no EOTech with a lower objective height, so you can get a decent cheek weld on other guns. I'd like to put one on my slug gun, but don't want to have to add inches to my stock comb.

Posted: 8/9/2012 1:13:14 PM I currently use a Mildot for long shots and German #4 heavy post for shorter range / hunting work. Red-dot on the carbine for really short stuff. That Horus / Vortex style reticle, although busy, looks like it could be super sweet for long shots. Been meaning to try one for a couple of years, but never had the opportunity... And not gonna drop that coin for a reticle I may not like when I am on the gun in real life.
