Voting changes things.....yeah it sure as hell does  vote commie it makes your free country a 3rd world country in very little time. ObamaCare, silencing your free speech....it's only going to get worse.
Anyone remember their grandparents saying that one day it will take you a wheel barrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread? Tell dad to FOAD? My parents are liberal voting hippy children, I told them I no longer live under thier roof, so I don't give a fuck what they think years ago. |

I mostly agree, though Romney might win, not that that makes any difference at all.
But the one thing you did not really address is the effect of currency collapse that is a mathematical certainty. Fat and drunk, everyone on the dole, sure people will comply. But what happens when you can't borrow or tax enough to provide your handouts to the stupid masses? If there is any hope, it is post collapse that's for sure. And I'd be really supprised if we made it another five years without the wheels coming off. |

You've got to realize, After this election, Obama has nothing to lose.
If he can't get legislation passed banning "assault" weapons, then he'll just EO it. Online gun sales? Online Ammo sales? forgetaboutit. EO, or get DHS to regulate it to where you have to pay so many fees and the companies are so liable for crimes, etc that they just fold up and limit to brick and mortar store sales only. I fully expect to see magazine bans for Obama's second term is over. I hate to see the next gun rights case brought before the SC. Seeing as how Roberts can't be reliably assumed to come down on the side of liberty, then those battles will be fought and lost in the court of public opinion. Never mind the minimum of 2 appointments he is liable to be able to make within the next 4 years. Hell, all he really has to do is find some nutjob professor to claim that gun powder causes cancer and let the EPA ban all ammo. For the children. This man doesn't give a shit about the Constitution. They read it differently than you or I do. I read a document that limits their powers. They see that if it isn't explicitly denied them, then they can. Article 1 Section 8 is just a guideline to these morons. I really don't understand why they haven't dropped guns and ammo into the commerce clause BS yet. That's how they tried to get rid of drugs and organized crime. My wife is going to have a whole herd of cows when she see's the credit card bill this month. I am buying body armor and bulk ammo. I have an order in for 6k rounds each of .223, .308, 9mm and .45. That should put me up over 25k rounds each. I also have an order in for (2) 1 year family freeze dried mountain house #10 cans. This is in addition to the 2 years I have of pouches and other misc sorted MRE type food. |

You are correct in stating that Romney is no better on a lot of levels. However, keep in mind that there is a well oiled political machine of both parties that puts these candidates there, and the average American has very little say in that. They have the power, we do not at the end of the day. The issue of no budget in three years gets to me too. Really gets to me. It would be nice if we could discharge them all for failure to conduct their duties and start over based on that. Auditing the FED would never happen. But let's assume it did. What would it show? Probably that we manipulate currency far worse than China, and OWN the financial game of nations on this planet. I fear that auditing would be worse than not in some ways. It is a Pandora's box. Jefferson, Adams, and Henry would all be considered kooks, and shut down before they even got out the door as too many people want the chains of bondage that they despised. OP, much of what you predict could, sadly, come to pass. I worry about what some of the guest authors on Lou Dobbs Tonight, who are studying Barry Soetoro and his administration much more closely than most of us, are predicting he will try to do in his second term. If they are correct, "you ain't seen nothin' yet", and I am not JUST talking about gun ownership rights either. He is apparently having his radicals work on a wide range of new regulations and executive orders that will completely transform this republic into a marxist/socialist state economically and socially. God help us.
These include taking tax money from incorporated wealthy white suburbs and sending it to the inner cities and ways to force the evil white folks in the suburbs and incorporated areas around larger cities to move back into the inner cities. There are others too. If we are not careful, we are going to end up like Cuba. Want to live like that? I didn't think so. |

That's how they tried to get rid of drugs and organized crime. My wife is going to have a whole herd of cows when she see's the credit card bill this month. I am buying body armor and bulk ammo. I have an order in for 6k rounds each of .223, .308, 9mm and .45. That should put me up over 25k rounds each. I also have an order in for (2) 1 year family freeze dried mountain house #10 cans. This is in addition to the 2 years I have of pouches and other misc sorted MRE type food. That's like over $8500-$9000 in ammo alone.....the mountain house is a good investment, but even in a worst SHTF, body armor is a bit much.Responding to the bold part: In the aftermath of a big hurricane in south Louisiana a few years back, I wished on several occasions that I had body armor. There was no way to call for help from the police (phones dead) and even if you could call them, they couldn't get there anyway because of flooding / downed trees. After that experience, I would much rather have $500 in armor and a $500 handgun than a $1,000 rifle and no armor. (Of course... the right answer is Get Both!  )

To be fair he could have a large quantity of .22lr, or have bought the majority back in the 90's when you could get 1000 rds of wolf for $79 and battle packs of .308 for like $20. Or he could be a reloader. I cast and reload and my cost is so low it's laughable, but no way I could cast, scrounge brass, and reload 1,000,000 rounds in probally 50 years
1,000,000 rounds of wolf .223 / 7.62x39 at 1998 prices would only be like $79000 + tax. Or 1M of .22lr at the same era price would be like $7900 |

This is not the same world that it was 250 years ago on all fronts and it never will be, we simply can do so little other then wait with spread cheeks. I'll keep voting (R) with you guys but that's only a half-step away from the path we're already walking. When my kids have kids, educated white middle class God-fearing people will be a minority. That's the problem we can't fix and the one that scares me. I can fight today if need be but who will in 50 or 100 years? |

You have to break up the 2 party system to save the country! Separate the liberals from the conservative, and separate the libretarians from the socialists. This gives 4 separate parties,..... Then vote for whom actually represents you frame of mind. |

The sad part is the OP is right, the 2 party system has failed. The difference in the 2 parties any more is degrees and not real issues. A 3rd middle to right of center party would help , but it is too late.

Every single one of you on the board who lament about how no one will resist, it's useless to resist, and you're an idiot if you ever think about resisting; You are the ones who will be burying your guns, trying to keep a low profile, and ultimately you will become collaborators to maintain your cushy lifestyle that was so rudely interrupted by the event that you said could never happen in the first place.
