23 grains of Bullseye? Sould have been less than 10. Check your data again. Are you sure it's for 45 acp? By the way if you tell hipoint you were shooting handloads they'll refuse to honor the warranty.  You fucked up.

Would all that powder even burn in the barrel?  I have a 38 special and I was playing with my new powder measuring thing from lee. At sometime during reloading 100 cases it started putting in three times the normal load. You can has thesku (sp) the bullets were only traveling at 300-600 fps....

bullet didnt penetrate backstop much.  casehead was FUCKED up and above the barrel, primer nowhere to be found.  Vented most of the pressure.

So 23 grains is the breaking point?

What was the most it took before that load?

Impressive that you actually got 23 to fit in the case though.

My load with bullseye was 4.7 grains, but I haven't reloaded in a long time, 23 sounds about right for a modern handgun

12 grains didnt do anything but stick the case and pierce the primer, then i said fuck it and went for broke.
