I saw the commercial/trailer and saw two problems with it.

1. John Travolta is in it.

2. Oliver Stone directed it.

It's 6.50 a ticket here for day time showing at our big Arizona chain Harkins.

Popcorn is free if you wear a Harkins T-Shirt and extra large drinks are 1 dollar if you bring a Harkins cup with you.

It costs me and my wife to go on a date to the movies only 15.00 and that price is including all the concessions!

2 afternoon tickets=7.50x2
2 large drinks=4.50x2
1 larrge popcorn=6.50

so total here comes out to about , 30 bucks.

we are getting hosed here.

Saw it today. I liked it. Did a pretty good job at showing the cartel folks as being twisted. Some interesting gunfights and other assorted gun porn. I'd watch it again.

I did like how each side viewed the other as savages for various reasons mentioned. Not bad for an Oliver Stone film but should have been shorter than 2 hrs 10 min. At times, I found myself looking at my watch more than the movie.

That's my plan. The trailer made me not want to see it, and then the guys from the thread here told me one of the guys is a veteran and that kind of makes me not want to see it more. The guy survives war just to become a drug dealer and get sloppy seconds off of some other drug dealer from a druggie whore.. Eh.

I can tune out stupid shit when I watch a movie and just enjoy a movie as a work of fun fiction but I'm not going to pay for whacked out ideas like that.

You have horribly low standards. It was fucking awful, and what gun porn? There was barely any gun stuff at all when you get down to it. The ending was dog shit coated dog shit with a soft chewy dog shit center.

it was a decent movie,

If it was 2 girls and 1 guy, arf would be all over it ..

One individual was a seal with iraq / astan deployments

Along with "several" of his friends with guns ..

They followed the "rules" of a gunfight, bring two guns, bring all your friends with guns ..

If you really think about the movie and what all it was showing its more than just a mindless action flick,

The police officer that was bought off, the fed that was bought off, the tribal lands bought off..

Entertaining movie worth the 14 bucks here.. for two people

For the most part I liked it. When I saw it, the audience laughed at the WTF moments, which I don't think was the plan. I did think it woiuld have more action scenes but overall I thought it was a good movie.
