Where I worked until my accident in 1985

Now its a COSTCO, Chinese Over Seas Trading Company, property

8500 jobs lost.
The CHICOMS took it over in 2003.
Our last big job was refitting the USS Missouri and New Jersey.
The LA City Council declared the LA Port a NO NUKE ZONE so
we couldn't service any Navy ship that used nuclear power or carried nuclear weapons.

Yeah, when they cabled it up they obviously did it all wrong. The second time around we moved the power to the front and the cable management to the back. Everything looks and works a lot better now. Go figure

Everything ended up being fully loaded. 2 or 3k cables overall.  Every time I see it I think of this:

It's since been rewired and it's a lot less of a mess now.

That first pic actually has some order to it, ugly as it is. It's kind of like "We want it to look nice and we want it to be easy to manage, but they won't buy us cable management. So, here's the best we've got, considering".

Didn't see this thread until I was already home from work for the weekend so here's an awesome stock picture I found:

Pretty much all looks like that, with minor variations. Ballast, ties, plates, rail, spikes, and anchors. Except for concrete ties, which are homosexual ties. Yep...exciting stuff.

The inside pic you posted kind of looked like our Elkhart, IN Facility, but the outside pic did not, so I was not sure. It's amazing in our industry how much we interact at my level (Bulk Hauling), been with Airgas for 5 years and up until 1 year ago I had never loaded at an Airgas Facility, had been competitors before that.
