I liked Part I.

My wife just finished the book last week.  She liked the book, but said the last few chapters were torture, but she slugged through it.

I'm looking forward to Part II.

I would have preferred cast continuity, but it didn't happen.

I'm sure they tried.  My guess is that they couldn't get them to sign up.  The first movie didn't do terribly well by box office measure.

I don't think complaining will change it.

D.B. Sweeney.  He's done a few TV episodes.
The guy from Fire In The Sky? he seems solid enough
I'll watch it but not really excited about it
Park ranger  from Broken Arrow

Holographic doc from Voyager

The devil from Reaper

Exploding toxic waste guy from Robocop

Rex Kwan Do

i mad it through about ten minutes of the first one on netflix.

moved to slow for you? You should read the book

No shit. I liked the book and believe we're seeing a lot of the stupidity that Rand wrote about happening today. With that said I have to ask if it was really necessary to have a 2 page monlogue about the joys of capitalism every 10 pages?  It was a battle to finish this book by the time I was half way through it.
I will say that the parallels to current society are kind of scary.

it helps if you're a person that can "skim read" sections of it pretty fast and be able to tell if it's something that needs a more thorough reading or if it's crap that can be skipped
there is some really good stuff in the book, but also lots of needless filler
