THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT “I was sitting in my living room texting on my phone and I heard somebody come in my back door. I didn't realize at the time what they were saying, but ultimately they were yelling out A-T-F, A-T-F.” Dominicos says she kept telling the three ATF agents this wasn't right. They told her they were searching for narcotics and asked if anyone else was home. She said her adult son was upstairs and that's when this story almost turned tragic. http://www.whec.com/news/stories/S2658110.shtml?cat=565 |

The important thing is that they tried really hard.
ETA: Apperantly somebody forgot to tell the Dominicos that they are mistaken. Dynamic entry teams are easily identified and work so fast that you wouldn't possibly be able to react. By pointing out these flaws the family obviously has some masturbatory fantasy about killing cops. |

How could they make that mistake, how could they make that mistake?”
Easily. There's no negative consequences for the officers if they do. |

Stop it. These are noble warriors in the War on Drugs. Their job is to fight against evil intoxication so they can earn salaries, retirement, and benefits. Maybe if we paid them more tax dollars they wouldn't be making these kinds of innocent mistakes. Besides, she probably was guilty of something. They cut her a brake.

RPD has been full of fail for as long as I can remember. Between the "accidental" shootings, wrong house raids, drug use, and open abuse of power they sure have a winning department.
ETA: How could I forget the rapist cop that instead of firing and arresting they just let him transfer to a suburban department to continue assaulting women. ETA2: The cop caught stealing thousands in gas that was near retirement so they just let him retire. |

This bullshit needs to be made an instant fireable offense.
"Oh, but it's hard finding the right house in the dark! And sometimes the address is wonky or the number isn't clear!" Tough. Fucking. Shit. This isn't fucking tiddleywinks, you're fucking bursting into somebody's house in the middle of the night, guns drawn, acting in the name of the state. Either bust ass and make double sure you get everything right, or face the consequences. |

Whats a dinning room? Where you would make a lot of noise I suspect.
“I thought it was a family member pulling a joke on me. And all of the sudden I looked up and they were in my dinning room pointing a loaded gun at me telling me they had a federal warrant to search my premises.” dinning present participle of din (Verb) Verb: (of a fact) Be instilled in (someone) by constant repetition. Make a loud, unpleasant, and prolonged noise. |

Maps and GPS apps should be required for this kind of work.... It's got nothing to do with technology. It's got to do with doing good police work, knowing how to do your job because you were properly trained and taking your responsibilities seriously. If all the GPS sattelites fell from the sky and every map on the planet was burned........even google maps shut down, there's absolutely no excuse for serving a warrant on the wrong house. That just means you are a dumb ass that has no business with law enforcement powers. I will tell you now.......you will NEVER see as incompetent a bunch douche nozzles as a group of federal agents on a mission. All the 3 letters agencies are filled with the most bumbling numb nuts for law enforcement officers you have ever met. Anytime we ever had to work with them it was a fucking soup sandwich. |

Easily. There's no negative consequences for the officers if they do. *ding-ding-ding* Johnny, tell him what he won!" I'm glad nobody got hurt or killed, but like the reporter said, it could've easily gotten deadly; the agents could've unlooaded on the guy and then the :"Oops! My bad" part would come and the agents would not be punished and the poor lady would be son-less... These guys need to do better intel before they come chanrging full-steam into a house; already many epopel have had their doors broken into, dogs shot dead and even family members shot and killed because they made a wrong turn at the rundabout or forgot it was "123 Main Street" and not "123 Dumbass Lane". I'm an LEO myself, and it amazes me that these people don;t take 15 minutes of their busy lives to check AND double-check the target address before they go in - that would save them a lot of "Oops! My Bad!" and the victims a lot of unneccesary pain and grief. Seriously? ATF get paid far more than me and they don;t even bother to check the address? SOrry! I keep forgetting that "Common Sense" and "Feds" doesn't compute sometimes. ![]() |

Reminds me when local SWAT 'took down' a drug dealer's house and caught an elderly grandma in her eighties trying to escape with her walker. They threw her on her bed and handcuffed her before finding out it was the house next door they were supposed to hit. They came back the next day and patched up her ruined door. The assistant chief said "We also apologized and brought her some tamales, what more does she want?"

This wasn't a no knock warrant and most warrants are not no knocks. There are two classes of warrant, the no knock which has a higher standard and a knock and announce. The no knock is meant for dangerous warrants where surprise is necessary, the knock and announce was supposed to give people a chance to comply but instead they have been turned into virtual no knocks by just breaking the door down as they pound on the wall and shout police but without all that pesky judicial scrutiny that goes with a no knock warrant. They may not be violating the letter of the law by doing this but they sure are violating the spirit of it otherwise why would they have ever created the two distinct classes of warrant. |
