My father was on board the USS Nightingale going to Casablanca for Operation Torch in 1942. He said the sea was so rough he said the waves were breaking over the guns on the Texas.
The Nightingale was full of 3rd Infantry Division Soldiers for the amphibious assault into Casablanca. They were sealed below deck and almost all of them were sea sick. He said the deck was covered and so slick you could not walk on it. |

Well since you are not accepting IM's (one of the hot 18 year old chicks here may find your post swagger irresistible and want to talk, but to shy to do it openly?)
Do you know what that dog is made of. I have one very similar. It's a great alerter, can hear a pin drop across the street, but only notifies if the pin is dropped on his turf, follows directions most of the time. Chihuahua like trait of attaching to one person but not retarded, tiny or fragile like a chihuahua. It was a show up skinny at the gate one day dog. His fast run is more long leaps. |

LOL - I didn't even know I had that turned off. LOL The shelter said that this Chihuahua was a "Deer Chihuahua". a little taller and the snoot was a little longer. She weighs in at 10 Lbs (healthy per the vet) versus the usual 6-8 pound Chihuahuas. like yours, she goes after things only if on her turf and can also hear a pin drop in the middle of the night. Best watch dog I ever had and the smallest Great Dane on the block. LOL She runs fast also, cornered a rabbit in the yard and since the rabbit was almost as big she didn't know what to do and walked away. for attachment, she bonds to my wife for security in stormy weather and to me for play time. a awesome lap dog. Deerhead Chihuahua description from the web. The applehead and deer Chihuahua are not, strictly speaking, different types of Chihuahuas, different Chihuahua breeds or different Chihuahua mixes. Despite being the original Chi, deer head Chihuahuas are not the "standard” Chihuahua recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC). A Chi is considered a deer head Chihuahua (it is sometimes also known as a reindeer Chihuahua), if does not have the characteristic apple shaped head. The deer head Chihuahua will tend to have a sloped forehead, longer nose, a more pointed muzzle and jaw line, ears which reach out, and the shape of its head will generally resemble that of a young deer. The deer head Chihuahua will also suffer from less health issues than the applehead. This is more than likely because the applehead has been specifically bred with the intention of keeping it pure, where as the deer head has not. ETA: now let me fix that IM setting since I'm missing out on all those 18 year olds! LOL |
