We were brave and started some last week before it rained. Now we pray for warmer weather and wait for the fields to dry again...
I saw two 30-row planters out in a field in Iowa on Saturday. They put in a lot of corn.

We got about 300 acres of corn in the ground and about 100 barley here before the rain and cold.

So I had a box sitting on my desk when I got in from flying home from Seattle last night.  I can't complain about a $20 Boker knife or $10 grip upgrade to my 22/45

Southern Pacific train coming out of woods onto bridge crossing Satilla River from Pierce County into Ware County today.
I was coming down US84 towards Waycross, saw him, went ahead, turned around, and waited.

Friday and Saturday camping, biking, hiking and ham radio in Manistee National Forest near Mesick, MI.

15 miles biking, 10 miles hiking and camping.  27 degrees Saturday morning.

End of the road. Hiking from here on to the top of Briar Hill where I was doing the ham radio.

North side of the hill where it was shaded.

Mountain top ham station.  30 degrees and wind made it cold operating.  Glad to have the tarp.

Dinner

Fun is over.  Driving home.

That looks like the Campo or Tierra Del Sol border fence.

Wherever it is, I've been to that exact spot.

I know where the steel landing mat panels that compose the fence came from (little bit of military history).

Km, what'd you think of the Canoe Paddler brew? I generally like most of what Leiny's puts out but I couldn't put my thumb on that one. I may have to give it another try

Had to try it.  It wasn't great but not too bad.  MUCH better than Bud Light.
