I know someone who did that about 20 years back with his marlin 22. Was highly illegal, but damn amusing to watch someone shoot a 22 in the backyard in the middle of San Diego, and no one was the wiser

It's a very grey area with this econo-can thing, and I'd rather not be the first to find out where the ATF stands on it. May the fuck be upon the NFA and the ATF. |

Always wondered about doing this with a water bottle cap (building and registering the adapter). Seen some very WOW videos with a small bit of stuffing, tape and a water bottle that were able to replicate the nicer suppressors in dB levels.

I'd have one on order if suppressors were kosher in my state. It does seem to be a gray area though. Didn't the ATF make some stink about Brillo pads being suppressor components not long ago?

Actually, I really, really want this to take off. The best way for us to tear big chunks off the ATF is to get them to over-reach to such a ridiculous and intrusive point that the average person is inconvenienced to the point of anger.
There will be no better or faster way to have hundreds of thousands of people screaming for the political heads of ATF chief bureaucrats than for Joe Public to suddenly have to jump through NFA hoops just to change the damn oil filter in his Prius. And the ATF is too institutionally stupid, power-hungry, and arrogant to be capable of not making that mistake. |
