My bro-in-law told me about a friend of his who bought an old farm at auction. The seller was a dude who inherited the farm from a dead uncle or something and lived there but never took care of it. After letting the place go for so many years, he decided he just wanted it gone and put it up for auction. My BIL's friend bought the place (as is, everything must go, all inclusive) and later discovered a safe in an out-building. Out of special consideration, he contacted the former owner and asked if they wanted the safe back or anything in it. The guy said, 'no, I have no interest in anything', so he opened it up.
Gold, bonds and/or similar serious valuables are what was inside; combining that with the junk-yard of vehicles and crap that was on the property (which were all sold-off or taken to the recyclers) and the new owner paid nothing for the property and came out ahead. Now, I don't know how much truth there is in that, but it was told to me as a true story. Best of luck on your safe, hope it brings you much riches. |

My Brother works for a township and they had an empty upright vault safe.Someone had lost the keys and combination .They were going to scrape it with the rest of the metal they had laying around. They give it to him.Brother as it turns out had the same safe at home
Took his apart to learn how to reset the combo lock system.Trolled the internet on how to open it ,after a few hours he had it open and reset the combo. |

So, Stack On would probably tell you the factor pre-set combo, or someone here will just happen to know it.
There's probably a 10% chance that whoever bought it never changed it. Worth a shot. How many positions for the dial? 60? You could just try 100 combinations per day until you win. Skip every other number if it seems 'loose'. |

Man..... y'all are harsh! though I understand why. You see, I too... have "tagged" such "empty safe" and "bunker below the kitchen floor" threads, just to be as disappointed as the rest of y'all!
Yes, I could "peel" this thing in about 10 minutes (or less) with just the tools out in the garage. BUT..... I'm waiting to use that option after all else has failed..... to include the very anti climatic "ask the farkin' manufacturer for the combo", option. If I can get into it without destroying it, I'll have a $400 safe for the whopping investment of $25 ($15 purchase price and $10 to get the combo). I have had some offers for help from some of y'all via email...... I'll have some pics posted either later today or by tomorrow at the latest. |

1. Spin the knob to the right more than three times then slowly turn to the right stopping when the knob starts feeling tight. Make note of the number on the knob.
2. Spin the knob to the left one full turn then start slowly turning to the left, stopping when the knob feels tight. Make note of the number on the knob. 3. Turn the knob slowly to the right, stopping when the knob feels tight. Make note of the number on the knob. 4. Try opening the safe. 5. If it works you have the combo. If it doesn't, keep trying. ![]() |

Additionally, the factory combo may be 50-25-50.
That's what I used to set S&G and Mosler combos to when I'd empty safes for storage. Go past the first number (50) three complete revolutions L, the second (25) two revolutions R, the last once L slowly to 50. It should click at 50, After the click, turn right to open. All kidding aside, if it were me I would want to find the combo so I could use the RSC for extra storage of ammo or tools or you could make a pretty cool beer fridge for your garage.
