Still dangerous i am sure but not a puckerd butthole moment

That boar makes a damn good case for carrying a double-stack sidearm.

Gustine, CA - Wild boar shot from 200 yards with hp Rifle but survives, and charges. Shot with Colt Combat Elite .45 APC.

maybe hunter couldnt get another shot with the rifle before the boar was right up on him

Nine Shots and still not dead.  Although you cannot count the one to the rear leg.   I am a Northerner so know nothing about Hog Hunting so I am wondering if he brought enough gun to the hunt or if he was just a bad shot or if Hogs are just that tough.

I read it. But my point was: did he bring one round for his rifle?   Why not a follow up shot to finish it.

It looked liked it was dragging his hind leg(s)....

The rifle shot took out  the wheels.

Looks like it's left rear leg was shattered.  Looked like it was flopping.

If he has a rifle somewhere off camera then he brought enough gun.

I missed that too .  I would still be reconsidering my choice of sidearm if I were that guy.  Maybe one of these:

That looks interesting. Goes to show you that your ccw handgun absolutely sucks at stopping a man. That boar weighed 50-75 pounds and needed a headshot or two to take it down.

Cranial shots are extremely tough on boars. Their skulls are very thick and a high angle shot has a great potential to deflect. I would have been screaming like a girl waving my arms around probably.

You need to pratice your shot placement.

Not a real smart hobby, as one day your like to find a bigger one that runs a little faster.

But hey points for not shooting yourself.
