Most p,aces make you wait till the blind comes to you.

The dealer will let you know your options depending on where you sit on the table (meaning position).

At a casino. Last time I played I forgot where I sat at, but I bought the button when I joined the game. Don't really know what that meant but I think I put out three chips (small+big blind in 1/2) and I got the button.

the way i always played was that if you weren't in a blind position you just paid the same as the big blind to start.
