Still love watching The Andy Griffith Show(the black & white ones as they all had Don Knotts). The ones in color were not as good IMHO camaro |

I always thought Gomer should have been named Goober and vice versa. Would seem more fitting.
RIP George. |

I got to meet him once & he was a SUPER nice fella!
He was also a helluva comedian, something many people didn't know. He also played QB while in college & yes, he graduated. His joke: My football coach held up a football one day & said, "Lindsay, can you pass this thing?" I said, "Coach, I don't think I can swallow it!" ![]() |

I saw an interview some years back in which Don Knotts was talking about being on this show. He said (paraphrasing) that Andy Griffith was a giant asshole who called every member of the cast on the day after a weekly episode was telecast and he would say either "I was pleased with your performance" or he would say "I was unhappy with your performance." He stated that everybody on the show waited for that call with dread and fear. I guess he made their life a living hell if he was unhappy. His show, his rules, I guess applies.
Goes to show you that on-screen acting can be a LOT different than the person is in real life - to state the obvious. Who would ever have thought that Andy was that way, based on his character portrayal? |
