THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Today got kicked off with this Big Ugly Fat Fucker flying by... Then... out of nowhere... those darn Japs attacked!! They pounced on an unsuspecting and unarmed B-17from the mainland!! They torpedoed a lot of ships! The smoke of the bombs and fires was thick in the air! Oh no! He's only got one wheel down!! He's gonna finish off that bomber! But then... a Little Friend appears! After scaring those Japs away, he makes it home safe. Later the USMC sent up a PBJ (B-25 Mitchell) to go fuck some shit up. Look at all mah guns! And a little fighter escort from the Army Air Force decided to join in the fun! And this little fella tagged along: (90% scale Supermarine Spitfire MkIX) And the big bomber is safely in the air again! Those VietCong mutherfuckers better take some cover! Next, for some fun... is he crashing?? No, he's doing a hammerhead! This guy took off into a knife-edge pass at less than 25' off the ground, and was making his loops so low, that if he went any lower, his giant brass balls would have been scraping the ground. Next... OH SHIT! THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!! THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!!! Might add some more pictures later. It was a HOT day out there and I'm feeling a bit fried. |

Luckily we had some rain this year. It's been slacking off lately, but I got rained on last night. I'm just west of Elgin. Not sure if the wet stuff got up north enough to hit Temple. |

Shoot, you didn't drop by the military vehicle display on the west end of the main runway and say hi?
The Skyraider was the show stopper. Literally 1/4 a B29. |

I think October... I may want to try to go to. I think the Blue Angels will be performing in that one. |

I got this picture of Keith cooking with a freaking multi-meter.
Engineers.
The Beech 18 was one of my favorites of the show. That guy looked like he was having a BLAST. |

It flew over the area in Alabama where I was raised. I don't know if the conditions were perfect, or if it happened to approach and depart optimally, but it was ungodly and very oddly loud. It was like I could feel the air moving minutes before it arrived. I heard it coming for ....maybe five minutes before it flew over about 1000 feet from me. I could hear it for about another five minutes afterward. |

The whine of the turbine engines and the rhythmic chirp-chirp-chirp you can hear in the video I posted is exactly how it sounds... only much LOUDER. |
