Ill start.. mainly because I am ecstatic!

Yesterday was my Birthday... and I got one of the best presents!

It was also the day that my position at work went from full time provisional to full time permanent!
My IT position was contractor based but a few years ago they changed it to provisional.. a few weeks ago they decided to convert a lot of provisional positions that are not going to go away to permanent.
I had medical, but now I have dental and vision.. it also made me edible for bonuses and I can use vacation that I was accruing!

What is YOUR good news or brag? Lets hear it!!

I made serious headway today on my hunting blind.. 12 foot platform is in the air, 3 walls with gun and bow windows are framed up... Tomorrow is ply wood day..... I love plywood day... 6 months from now I will be sleeping in this blind waiting for the sun to rise, and Bambi to walk by.... Nothing beats opening morning of bow season, 9 months of preps, target practice and waiting all comes together when you draw that bow back and wait for the perfect shot.....

My grandpa is getting out of the hospital tomorrow He slipped on some ice almost 2 weeks ago. We thought he broke his hip, but instead it was his femur. Still bad, but much easier to recover from. Doctor says he's recovering faster than expected.

I found my iPod on Sunday!!

I lost it about a year and a half ago, but refused to buy a new one because I knew it was in the house (I only take it outside the house for biking, yard work, and rides in my wife's car). But in 18 months I had been unable to find it - until Sunday!!

Don't really have any at the moment...

but... there are better days over the horizon. I'm not sure how far away they are but by God I plan on living to see them, and I take comfort in knowing they exist.

Got to see my nephew this weekend. It stinks that he and my sister live so far away.

I was being a dork and did a fist pump while saying "YEAH". At the same time my bro-inlaw was feeding my nephew lunch and asked my nephew if he wanted more cheese. So my nephew does a fist pump and shouts "YEAH". I had a good laugh about that.

And he can sort of say my name "Hi-cle kid kid"

It was in a shirt pocket on a funky Fijian shirt that I rarely wear. I've checked the pockets of every single pair of pants and shorts that I own (like five times over), but it never occurred to me to check shirt pockets. My wife and I went to a party in D.C., and because we took her car I brought my iPod (because her car can connect to it) - and for some odd reason I put the iPod in my shirt pocket (It's not a full-size one, but one of the medium-sized slim ones that they don't make any longer).

So on Sunday, I decided to wear that shirt - and immediately felt an odd weight in it when I pulled it off the hanger.

What's funny is that when I've been trying to figure out where it was, I KNEW that the last place I had it for sure was in her car for that party - so I've torn apart her car looking for it. And when I told my wife, her response was "oh yeah, that was the shirt you wore to that party" - but it also had not occurred to her that I might have put it in a shirt pocket.

Talked with one of my best friends, today. Out of this conversation came the possibility that I might be moving to either Texas, or back to Oregon in the next year or two.

I like California a lot, but I like the idea of being closer to my family, and I am eyeing that Bersa Thunder UC9 that I can't have, and an AKM.

I got asked to be a best man at a wedding for the second time! I guess I'm doing something right and my unit is promising me that I should have a set of the new Army Service Uniform early next month which i just in time to wear it at the wedding!

I preferred the greens but I like the historical aspect of this one.

"Cow Poly" is a great ag and engineering school. You should go to their Cal Poly Pomona store and purchase farm fresh vegetables that they grow on campus.

Nope, never been on campus, my freind grad there with a degree in land scape architecture. He brings me veggies etc etc.

If any of you folks are near Cal Poly Pomona(~30 miles east of Los Angeles), I do highly recommend their store, they sell everything they grow to help support the school,

Cool, I never gradgiated, did most of my degree in manufacturing engineering then took a break and never went back. Starting school again for an IT based degree now since that is what my career ended up being in. My dad teaches there in the college of engineering and two of my sisters graduated from there as well as tons of my friends. Live in AZ now and love it!

Nice you found your gadget in your old sweaty unwashed shirt that you were getting ready to wear again.

On a less funky note I found a Overton M1A1 stock set for my M1 Carbine at a yard sale last weekend in NOVA for $40.00.

Closing on a house next week. "Motivated seller" walked away from a nice place & we got it for essentially what he owed. We arraigned a 3.375% 15yr mortgage. I wanted to pay cash but financial adviser convinced me to hold my stock and let the 8.5% dividends make the payment.

# 6 grand daughter was born on 4/9 But she has CDH and is missing most of her left lung. She had surgery to fix the CDH. Surgey went great, was a boring surgery according to the doc. NICU nurses say they have never had a baby with CDH do so well. Doc says left lung will grow and with luck become normal. Lungs keep growing for 7 years after you are born. So after 7 months of worrying, little Ashlee will be okay

In the last few months, I got a slamming bonus (it was enough to buy a Ducati, but my wife said no), was offered a position with one of the top corporations to work for in the world, which I accepted, picked up more work for my own business, and generated a business idea that I believe is going to make me a millionaire in five years. Also, my employer picks up the cost of all of my license/CPE. I work from my house, I bought an HK USP 45, my dog thinks I am the bomb, my wife got another promotion with a nice raise, and we are going to Florida soon for a vacation!! We are going to stay by the harbour in Destin where we will rent a boat and a jetski. Life is good. Wow, getting a solid education does pay off.

I was in Papa Johns the other night waiting on a pizza, out of boredom I asked the guy working the register if the buffalo-chicken pizza was any good. Instead of your typical "Yeah it's good" comment you'd expect, he ran to the back and gave me a piece off one they had just made for themselves.

-Thought that was pretty cool and BTW the buffalo-chicken pizza is pretty damn tasty.
