Ask if they're going to change some nearby zoning to commercial so the payday loan shops can open.

Take one for the community and here is why:
My location has gradually demolished the project areas. Instead, the participants are given vouchers and they can move into really nice homes, cost the taxpayers more, and destroy every neighborhood. |

I think it's horrible that people are going to build low-income housing on your land.
You should force them to buy it, then they could do whatever they want with it - because it would then be their land, right? Oh, wait.... |

that means your taxes will go up locally to pay for the increase of children going to the local public school. As well as increased water, & sewer,

Where in Texas?
This isn't ambiguous, your property value and neighborhood quality is about to collapse. It's not the tenants. It's only marginally their kids. It's the POS chaff of humanity that are their kids friends, and other cling-ons that aren't even in the lease. And the decline is as predictable as the tides. Good luck on your fight. |

Put a "For Sale" sign on your property tomorrow. Price the loss you can accept. The developer has already gotten inside your OODA loop. |

I'm curious how many of these things are constructed during a Republican President's term of office and a Democrap's. If it's the same then we are getting scammed but I suspect the demonrats roll out the architect's plans upon their election. They are obsessed with relocating parasites to decent neighborhoods... like a barbarian chief planning his next raid of conquest & pillage.

Welcome to my world. When the housing market crashed, Habitat for Humanity bought up all of the empty lots remaining in the development. The only time I ever see police in the neighborhood is when they are at one of the Habitat homes. Hoodrats play in the streets daring cars to hit them, screaming obscenities at the top of their lungs. Graffiti pops up daily and crime is on the rise.
My wife and I busted our ass’s to buy a home we could afford in what promised to be a nice quiet neighborhood. Now it is worth 1/3 of what we signed up for and as the neighborhood deteriorates, will likely never regain its value. Bars for the doors and windows are high on the list of things to buy. Do whatever you can to stop it |

You won't change a thing with the public meeting. Sell your house and move now is what I recommend. There are several government programs pushing for this. Common programs are Mixed-Income Housing, HOME, MTO, and HOPE VI. You see according to the government poor people are poor and have higher criminal activity because they do not have the same oppertunities that you do. So by moving them into middle class neighborhoods they magically transform into law abiding and productive citizens.
Here is what HUD had to say about the program. Mixed-income housing is an attractive option because, in addition to creating housing units for occupancy by low-income households, it also contributes to the diversity and stability of American communities. Whoever is behind building the project is getting a huge grant from the federal government to do so. It could even be your city behind this. There is no stopping it. |

Houston is a funny place. There are many beautiful neighborhoods with what could be considered ghettos next door. There is no zoning. We never really had the housing bubble like other places. We live out in the burbs, in northwest Harris county.

The Democrats support it more obviously but the Republican's keep it going. Clinton pushed it big time but it HOPE VI was reautherized in 2006 under GW Bush. As of June 1, 2010 there have been 254 HOPE VI Revitalization grants awarded to 132 housing authorities since 1993 – totaling more than $6.1 billion |

Where in Texas, we had something similar happen to us. My recommendation it to save your breath and sell your house. There is nothing you can do to stop it as the Govt has paved the way to move that shit in no matter what.
Crime most certainly will go up and its a fact. |

Those who push section 8 near us to "diversify" our neighborhoods do not live in diverse neighborhoods.
They live in gated communities with security and cops who sit and wait for a jaywalker to bust or someone going 26mph in a 25mph zone. |

In general, Houston is the most diverse city in the whole country. We are so diverse that the white man is less than fifty percent of the population. It is a great place to make a living. I plan to sell and move. The problem is that these types of developments can pop up anywhere. Aside from some areas I can't afford yet, this could literally happen anywhere down here.

Section 8 destroyed my hometown. I left a number of years ago. You are wasting your time. The people in charge of this shit, often an appointee and not an elected person, don't give a shit what you think. This stuff comes down from the feds to the state to the locals who can't do a damn thing about it. You and your neighbors will have your property fucked with and be targets for all sorts of crime. If you bitch, you will be labeled a racist. The police will get tired of chasing these ghetto goblins around and eventually give up. This is the voice of experience. Move or deal with it. It is happening everywhere.

Democraps don't care what hard working taxpayers think.
They only care about imprisoning more and more people in poverty. Because impoverished people will vote democrap so their handouts will continue. |

Ask yourself if things can improve from your current situation.
Then ask yourself how much things can deteriorate. If the answer is anywhere close to, "It can only go down from here," it's time to move. |
