Yep, just picked this up from WallyWorld...flat top upper, 2 mags, 18" barrel...Pretty happy about this!

Bryan

ETA: This would not have been possible if my old buddy Sam (SMLockeIII) hadn't noticed it in the case and sent me a text message. Thanks for the heads up, Sam!

Good buy!

Oh, and in before the DPMS haters.
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:33:13 PM EST
nice. was that the correct price?
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:33:41 PM EST
First glance was "jeez that seems high"

Then i saw the 10 not 15.
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:33:42 PM EST
I'm really not up to speed on such things, but that seems like a smokin' deal!

Now get out and shoot it and give us a range report!

I bought a armalite ar-10 here for $1000 two years ago. It was used but in very good shape. I think you got a pretty decent deal.

Am I in before Larry ?

Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:38:10 PM EST
That's a helluva deal for a 308 AR. With a couple hundred bucks into that thing it'll be as good as any other high end 308 AR.

My first AR was a DPMS. Never had any issues with it.

I agree. There just seems to be a large amount of dislike around here for that particular company. I happen to own one and I am completely happy with it. Like I said, good buy.

$897 is the correct price, and this looks like a pretty nice rifle. My first .308 in the AR platform, we'll be heading out to the range in the morning!

You'll need a reloading press next.
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:42:28 PM EST
At that price, I'd own a .308 AR.

I really need to catch up... What is the break down on mag pattern... What makes use which mags? Is there a "winner" yet for mag pattern?.. I.e. which can use the Magpul mags?
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:42:39 PM EST
Wow, nice find
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:42:54 PM EST
Nice buy for the price!!! I demand a full range report ASAP
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:45:53 PM EST
That is a good price.. Hope it works better that the one I bought a while back.
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 1:46:12 PM EST
Does it have a dust cover? Or is it the DPMS versions of the Bushy ORC?

DPMS LR308 can use the PMAG.

I think this is the cheapest 308 that does.

Might have to start trying to figure out which is the nearest WallyWorld that holds an FFL. thanks.

Not only can, but Should use Pmag. A lot of people had feed problems with the oe mags. Pmags fixed it

I've had feed problems with DPMS 4rd mags, CProducts 5rd. I haven't tried anything else.
I bout the 5 round limiter for 20rd PMAGS, not realizing it was 20rd 5.56 PMAGs.
I've yet to try 20 rounders of any kind, just because I''m pretty much restricted at the range, and in the field (hunting).
I wish/hope Magpul has something in the works for the 7.62 PMAGs. I know I can stick a block of wood in their, but an engineered solution would be nice.

Does the barrel say REP on it somewhere?

What's your AO?

The Walmarts in my area took all the guns out of our stores.

Wish my Walmart sold guns still!

Seeing as how I just spent over $1100 for pretty much the same model a couple days ago, I'd say you got a good deal
Link Posted: 4/14/2012 2:58:59 PM EST
Glad to see Walmart is not shying away from selling black rifles.

They just added them back about six months to a year ago around here.

I'd jump on that at that price,

WTF is that thing covering the buffer tube?

Wow, nice score!

My local Walmart stopped selling guns shortly after 9/11. The one 20 minutes up the road still sells them but I haven't seen any black rifles there yet.

I think REP is a Remington proof mark.

my 2 ar's, one with an FN A2 upper and the other a CMMG M4 14.7 w/PA A3 fh, both on DPMS lowers. I personally would not but one of their complete 5.56 guns, they just don't look right to me, but the lowers are GTG. That .308 is intriguing.

When I saw "DPMS AR-10" I also had the "oh my, I hope the OP has a mouthguard handy" reaction too.
