As many of you may remember, we had photo albums here with pics for Vietnam Vets, Korean Vets, Gulf War I, II.
Unfortunately those albums were lost in a server crash.

Well..I'm please to say we are going to do it again.
I have the honor of posting pics from Edsr.

Ft Bragg, before shipping over. 1st generation Starlight scope with illumination lamp

Division sniper school, early 1967 Ft Bragg

Near Phu Bai, evening before going out to check something out near Hue early next morning

There is more but I'll start with these and you guys can bug Ed to narrate them.
ETA..I set the album up so anyone can add photo's. It's here. http://www.ar15.com/media/album.html?aid=1749

Great idea. I'll see if my father is okay with me posting his pictures from Nam.

In the first picture, I can really tell it's him. Just photoshop a beard onto him, and he's pulling the same kind of 'IMA GON KILL YOU' face that he was when snapped at a recent (Shot?) show.

Man, that second pic is frighting. Not a lot of distance from the MG position to the brush. I don't know if that grenade is for the enemy, or personal use if the position gets over run.
Thank you for sharing.

For those that don't know..Edsr served with a LRRP unit..he explained what the pics represent when he e-mailed them to me. I have a lot of respect for any one that wears a uniform for their country and fights the good fight...but for those high speed folks that can't wait to do what a sane person wouldn't..they have my utmost respect.
Here are some more of Ed's pics.
This one is of Ed taking the sniper course.

I salute Ed Sr. and all of our other Vietnam veterans.

There are many on the left who say that the Vietnam War was a tragic "waste."

THEY ARE WRONG.

The fact is, by demonstrating our resolve to stand firm to defend foreign lands from communist aggression in the 1960s, we may very well have prevented the Soviets from attempting to invade western Europe.

While that can never be conclusively proven, I submit to you that it can never be conclusively disproven either.

I can't even begin to imagine how rough it must've been on the youngsters.

18-19yr olds straight out of the Donna Reed show thrown into a jungle to fight a (REAL) tier 1 infantry force with decades of live-fire experience
on their own ground.

God bless 'em. The treatment they got (And DIDN'T GET!) at the hands of the American left in the 60's and 70's is a national disgrace.
