That video pisses me off.

Pisses me off because it's being ignored.

That... and in another video they talk about one of the old time nuclear scientists that had a LFTR reactor going, but they shut it down.  His point was basically 1. they figured out the light water reactors first, and once they had that tech, they didn't want another and 2. you can't make bombs out of Thorium.

Cheap, safe, reliable, massive energy returns from small amounts of fuel, very little waste, no tech or materiel for the Norks or Iranians to buy or steal.  What's not to like?

AV1611 out.......

There are easily a few handfuls of better ways to do modern nuclear power, and this is one of them. Many of them have been tested and some are even in operation in other countries. We can't do it here because of massive regulation, brought on in part by mass hysteria and lack of understanding, corruption, etc. Also, you really have to consider the costs. Right now, is it worth it to invest in this new power source? You can't just take this scientist's design and throw it on the grid and pump out energy. Power generation is extremely safe here because of the rigid measures we take to make sure things will work right and not kill anyone. Not to mention an infrastructure change. One day these sources of nuclear energy will be more widespread, but you can't just waive your magic wand and have it right now for less money than what we could spend to just keep creating power the way we already are.

It is not green enough.  . Let's spend more money on wind and solar.

dude's not getting the sulfer iodine cycle at 400C. He is comparing a breeder reactor to non breeder. A lot of sketchy stuff in that video.

He is a salesman selling a product. Keep that in mind.

FLR reactors for the win!

Well, we have also had a run of people in the White House who have never really worked with their hands.  Ever.  Energy is "something that someone else does" or "something that I invest in", and they have no real interest in challenging the liberals.

If that guy knew his stuff  he would not have been reading it from notes...he wasn't blasting out tons of data...he should have been better prepared.
Having said this, i'm game, lets go.

And oh, there are safe "regular nuclear reactors"...designed by Oregon State University... problem is, most people are ignorant and stupid...

I see the monthly LFTR thread has arrived.

I was starting to wonder when it was gonna show up.

It's hard to control the masses when energy is cheap and in "unlimited" supply.
