What the researchers found was that the middle-class families tended to talk to their children frequently and communicate heavily with them, whereas the Section 8 housing families tended to only talk to their kids in order to yell at them for something. The fact remains that America is a very diverse society, and some of the different cultures here may not necessarily encourage their offspring to develop a particularly well-rounded vocabulary. |
