THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT but.......
If I were seen carrying a briefcase, I would be immediately detained as I wear green pajamas to work. I sometimes leave my house in AM with my scrubs on and carry my rifle to the truck in an eagle case. Certainly most people would think gun. Now, the gun is going to stay in the truck then go with me to the range when I get off work. Nosey, "Hillary for President" sign neighbors don't know that I'm not going in to shoot up the hospital. What if they call it in? I don't need the trouble. Especially with a homosexual, Obamaton for a boss, like I have. So, I was perusing the December newsletter. In the ARF store is a "covert take down soft case". 26x12x4 IIRC. That's pretty small. And if you gay it up with some velcro Apple or Intel patches or maybe Nikkon or Cannon it would arouse less suspicion. Clearly, not everyone needs this. I'm actually probably GTG living in Texas. Were I still in Conn.? I'd get one right away. In bright pink preferably. |

10.5" SBR will break down and fit in a laptop backpack. Dividers keep upper and lower apart, pouches seem to be made for spare mags.

A toolbox works fine, too. I don't have it in front of me to give the exact dimensions, but it's a Stanley brand and will easily accommodate an ACOG-equipped 16" AR when broken into two pieces.

Get one of those brightly colored internal frame backpacks. Doesn't have to be one of the big ones, only long enough for the upper to fit.

That's the great thing about the Kel-Tec S2K carbine. The ways to carry them are only limited to your imagination.
I keep mine in a 15" laptop case and it's ready to go in a instant. ![]() |

We are talking getting into an SBR, if you choose to "need" red dots, rail, etc, YOU made the thing go into orbit. I know. I did both. I use one of these. www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Bags-Backpacks/COVRT/COVRT-M4.html Works well and doesn't look like a rifle bag at all. Even the Larue case looks like it could be a gun bag. Or electronic equipment I guess.

Golf Bag (travel bag).....a bit big, but when you want to carry a bunch of long arms (and some smaller ones in pouches)...but the long guns into a 'sleeve', then into the golf bag.

Gangsters used to use violin cases for Thompsons. I used a guitar case and made a really great hard case for a full sized AR15, that balanced out with magazines and room for a nice 1911 and mags. I put lotsa hippie stickers on it just to complete the look. It ended up as a christmas gift for a buddy of mine.

Yup, most generic 24" toolboxes would work nicely. I have a non-name all black one from Walmart or somewhere.. works fine. Recommend a Youth Baseball Bag (minimum length of 24" to fit a broken down, standard 16" upper) from goodwill, or Secondhand sports. I have this one with the extended part folded back into the bag. Nice, small, compact, cheap, benign, not too expensive, or clear even what might be in it.. just a smaller, "sporty" bag. Could be gym shorts or some sort of sports gear. But way less attractive to thieves than a guitar case, or something like that. |

Under Armour gym bag. Nobody thinks twice about someone carrying a gym bag to or from their car/work every day or wants to steal clothes.
Hard cases, "discreet" soft cases, instrument cases, tool bags, baseball bat, golf bags, and military colored bags all say "steal me" IMHO.

~85% of the cases in this thread are odd looking to the casual observer - and to a cop or firearm enthusiast...are probably firearm cases.

The "casual observer" usually has no sense of situational awareness and is not looking out for things like that, which is the whole idea. They will, however notice standard gun cases or gun shaped cases. Firearms enthusiats? Duh! When i see any sort of case I assume there could be a gun inside. In Texas, there probably is. My ARF "discreet" cases are less about discretion than about compactness. I'll be able to carry at least four of them, with a goodly amount of ammo, in a chest type Pelican case I've got sitting around. |
