When I picked up my review guns my bud Joe at Quantico had his AR short barrel rifle there.
I could not believe how much shorter the Tavor is........

Are they going to sell the MTAR (with extended barrel)? It is becoming the standard issue rifle in the IDF:

I think the CTAR looks better, but someone who seems like they've used both said this when comparing the two:

WITH THE SAME BARREL LENGTH :

The MTAR has a shorter overall length than TAR/CTAR

It's lighter.

It also has a shorter length of pull.

The butt stock is less bulky ( height ) .

The position of the mag release and the charging handle allow quicker reloads and stoppage clearance.

The shape and size of the bolt release reduce the chances of premature/accidental bolt release.

The handguard+charging handle location on the MTAR allows rail attachment on all sides unlike on the TAR/CTAR.

The handguard +charging handle location on the MTAR allows the barrel to free float.

The handguard on the MTAR allows the use of telescopic sound suppressors
or shorter barrels than 13 inches with regular sound suppressors.

The safety switch on the MTAR is easier to operate.(45 degrees)

You can remove the pistol grip therefore the size of the trigger guard is up to the operator's choice.

Trigger pull is much better.

These are only a few reasons why I would choose the Micro Tavor over the regular Tavor as a bases for an entire weapon family(rifle, carabine,DMR,GL)

If any of the listed advantages are unclear or not obvious I'll explain in further details.

Seems like the MTAR is the better weapon.

They have said in a year or so maybe. The internals are the same so it might just be a body. Who knows.

Lets see how the Tavor does first.

Who's selling these things? Will anyone ship the rifle to my dealer and the barrel to me so I can pin a brake on it?

Want one, but haven seen a compliant one.

You can have it sent directly to ADCO to have the muzzle device pinned.

Your other option is to talk to your FFL and ask them if they will accept it and either send the barrel out for you or let you do it before you take possession of the rifle.

THEIR SUPPLY WILL NEVER MEET OUR DEMAND

I have the cash in hand ready to purchase, sadly the way things are it will most likely be many months before i get my hands on one of these.

More and more exciting. And I am really pleased he covered the whole shoulder transitions thing, because while I am a right handed person, I shoot a rifle left handed. I was of the opinion I would need to have a left handed model and would never be able to swap shoulders if need be.

Now though, it seems I can just buy a right handed version, and have no issues.

Not a left handed model, a left handed bolt. You do the swap.

Question: can anyone comment on the trigger feel on these?  Better/worse/about the same as a standard non-tuned AR15?  Is it single stage or dual stage?

Single stage heavy but crisp. 8# ish out of the box. Should break in less.

Though I still remember getting on the MSAR bandwagon and the issues I had (though the company CS/Dave was fantastic)  I think I'll have a hard time not getting one of these if I can find one.

I'm only 30 minutes from where the building is, thinking of driving by one day to see what's up there.

Here's the TAVOR SAR shipping schedule this week: Wednesday we start with shipments to distributors in the west, Thursday the midwest and Friday to the rest of the country. An assortment of TSB16, TSB16L, TSFD16 and a small quantity of TSIDF16 will make the cutoff. (Note that this is not "carved in stone". Literally anything can happen that might delay this a few more days, but this is the current plan.)
