I like The Cult. They get pretty good airplay on Sirius 33, and occasionally on the '80s channel.

Love the Cult.

Long drives my wife puts her noise cancelling headphones on because she hates the Cult.

When I drive, me and the kids rock the Cult.

Great band.  I always liked them and was happy to see them opening for Metallica in '89.  Unfortunately the rest of the crowd was not as much of a fan so the set was cut short and Ian Astbury told us to all fuck off.

I too saw them open for Metallica when they were on Sonic Temple and Lars was on and justice for all. Great band. Loved the older stuff too - after Southern Death Cult when they just became the Cult.

I had a Southern Death Cult record. I don't know what happened to it. When they re-tooled to The Cult, I think they helped kick off the 90's Alt music scene. I bought the first Cult album when it came out. They were great, but so were The Meatmen, The Anti-Nowhere League, Skrewdriver, Bound For Glory, The Screaming Trees.

Speaking of the Screaming Trees; Mark Lanegan's solo work is damn fine. Check out: "House a Home"

Ian and Billy ( The Cult ) put out some great tunes.

Or vice- versa, but I agree with you. The first Danzig / Last Samhain record is a masterpiece!!!

Glenn will always be a fave. I still have my Bullet 45 RPM w/ lyric sheet & Last Caress 45 RPM.

I would have to say I am fan got to see them  them Feb 10, 1990 at the Patriot Center. My collection of Cult Cd's contains somewhere near 30 different discs( some are singles) and ten are from a box set. A live show 2 disc set. And just for the record the went from The Southern Death Cult to Death Cult to The Cult.

I am constantly amazed that when they come up most everyone talks about them from the album Electric forward, and ignores IMHO one of the best rock albums ever recorded - Love. It's superb, end to end, still holds up and sounds relevant almost 27 years later.

I know what you mean.  I have Love on vinyl.  Bought it when they still sold vinyl in the stores.  However, if I wasn't introduced to them by Electric, I wouldn't have known about Love.   And to be fair, somebody did post She Sells Sanctuary.

Makes you feel old, doesn't it? They sure had the alternative sound of the 90's beat by a few years.

I saw them in Pittsburgh on the Electric tour, when I was in college. Great show, too.

I was lucky to have seen them in 1992 before they started their downhill slide.

Recently,I would like to have seen Cardboard Vampyres play live.

John Corabi vocals
Jerry Cantrell guitar, vocals
Billy Duff guitar
Chris Wyse bass
John Howser drums

Love is a great album......but Electric is where they really got noticed...so it stands to reason it is the one many recognize first.
