Jesse James was your welding teacher?
Or did you get him to weld that box? Cool bike. I had a 1970 Triumph Bonneville 650 when I was in high school. |

I don't really have any metal fab skills, and most of my learning how to weld has been through books youtube videos and trial and error. Don't yet have a TIG machine just a hobart MIG welder with trimix gas.

Very cool. I think rigid frames are best.
I run a 165sr15 coker rear tire on 15" centerline w/ custom hub. I think it gives the best ride compared to motorcycle wheels. |

With the stock rearend, the widest I can go is 130, right now. It's a stock 16 rim and hub with a trail rated rear tire.

Kinda, the name of the bike in the movie Easy Rider that Fonda rode was called CPT America, but I have loved the comic since I was about 11 I like the spirit of doing the right thing and making tough decisions.
It's not wet I just got done waxing it. |

Basicly I feel like the late 60 and early 70s were defined by movies Easy rider and woodstock and to a greater extent the motorcycle culture especially choppers were influenced by easy rider. It's a big giant bullshit lie. I am the son of a Vietnam vet when my dad came home he bought a triumph and he always used to talk about it later he sold it to take care of his family but it's guys like my dad that have inspired me the dudes I think of when I think about that time in history the ones who met their obligations to this country then came home and managed to keep their shit together. Some older guys from that time will explain away what happened to them and why they didn't have to go to Vietnam. Some will say they did their time over there and feel they have very little else to explain after that. This is my nod to them, my heroes my forefathers not just my old man but all of them. I have a million reasons why I am building a TRIUMPH instead of a Harley I could have bought a shovel or ironhead for less and for a little more coin even a pan. A triumph just seemed right for me.I really don't dislike Harley but I remember my uncle telling me when I got the trumpet, to start working on that the everyone rode harleys but the guys who went fast rode triumphs thats ok with me they were the bikes even the motorcycle gangs even made exceptions fore. Guys like the booze fighters came home from WWII and chopped and bobbed bikes to suit their needs and wants. Some of the WWII vet would put on war trophies from their time over seas, this was later picked up by younger biker gangs like the Angels putting swastikas and shit like that on their scoots for shock value. It wasn't something they earned just something they did. The hammer is off of an IED cell it's my two cents, my buy in to generations past who have quitely made this nation what it is, wether they fought eyeball deep in hell or worked in some hot and nasty factory putting it on on the line. The America the media oftern ignores because it doesn't garner a shit load of attention. Maybe they just want to grow old gracefully and are not on some late life quest for redemtion. |

The pickup is always getting pushed off all it really lacks is paint, it's airbagged with a C-notch in the rearend disc up front with a 383 with Vortech heads running through a beefed up 700r4. No A/C no power steering it only has disc brakes for safety and 4 point harness with the collapsible steering column and the area under the cab is boxed and reinforced.
before thats my KIA bracelet that I flattened out and mounted, SSG Robsky was killed on 10 Sept 2003 he was the first EOD tech killed by an IED in Iraq he was also my team leader, and has a had a huge impact on me.
I think this should work for a steering stop I don't think it will need to hold a lot of weith mostly just to keep me from leaning over to much when I park it. |

The ignition key is going into the side of the can as well. Probably remove some of the rust on it as and call it good. It's a 5.56 can that we used for storing electric blasting caps tried to preserve as much of the nomenclature as I can.
